So Proud to Announce that one of our local Lansing kids will be taking his talents to the next level.

I met Sidi at Beacon. I’ve watched him play several games with his High school team and I think he may be one of the best wingers I’ve ever seen. Physical, IQ, SPEED, Sidi truly has it all.

Great Lakes got a gem of a player and I can’t wait to see how things unfold for him there.

He gives me way more credit than I deserve, but I’m thankful that I was able to be a small part of his journey.

Last night I was watching a ⚽️ game, a Highschool kid came up to me after, introduced himself, and asked if I had a extra soccer ball that he could have so he could practice at home.

I didn’t have any on me, but I had a brand new one I had found on marketplace sitting on my kitchen table.

I ran home to get it for him, came back, and his face lit up with a smile as I brought it over to him.

My first thoughts were man this is a cool moment. Being able to connect with our local Lansing kids, by them recognizing me, and being able to sow seeds of love to him by giving a simple soccer ball.

My second thought this morning, was how sad it is that every kid that loves the game ⚽️ doesn’t have a ball of their own to play with. This is a reality that is hard to believe.

If anyone would like to help our local 517 kids have a soccer ball at home. If you have soccer balls at home, size 5, and are in good condition, or would like to purchase one or two to give away, get ahold of me!

I could use the help.

Hey guys!

Hope everyone had a great Saturday. I watched a lot of good games today (not msu unfortunately) 😞 but still , I want to put a bug in your ear right now so when I come back to this later and you will know exactly what I’m talking about.

In spring, we are looking to host two scrimmage games to play Real Lansing FC u13 team. Our boys are a mix of 2013/14s and we are inviting any team or individual players to come scrimmage with us from ages 2015-2011. So whether you are a coach and would like to set something up with your team or an individual player and just want to come play, we will run some pick up style games.

I was talking with a parent yesterday and I was talking about my 1v1 Tourney for Varsity players that I’m putting on November 2nd and they didn’t know anything about it.
Made me realize that I need to share more here as well. I’ve been posting more on Instagram then Facebook for several reasons but the main reason is Views/interactions are just way more on IG then FB. This FB account averages 20k interactions a month. The Ig averages closes to 60k/month.
Anyways tourney is November 2nd, location should be set today for Eastern Turf Field. I’m partnering with my friend “Coach Juan” and several of my buddies from Real Lansing will be there as well.
We have some really (REALLY) good players registered for this. It’s free to register and there is a cash prize for the winner.
Ultimately I’d love to have every 517 school represented. Right now I have kids from sexton, Everett, Eastern, and williamston in it.
Free event. Bring out the kids. They won’t want to miss this.

Hi friends!

My name is David Garza, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve accepted the role of Community & Culture Strategist at Real Lansing.

As a native of Lansing, I’m deeply passionate about connecting with and engaging our 517 community.

I have three children, two of whom graduated from Sexton High School, and my youngest, David Jr., is currently playing on the U13 Real Lansing Premier Team.

In 2023, I founded All things Soccer 517 with the vision of building bridges within the soccer community and fostering a shared culture. As the Community & Culture Strategist for Real Lansing FC, I’ll be working on ways to grow and thrive within our community. This includes reaching out to and building relationships with local small businesses that are committed to investing in the children in our community. Additionally, I’ll be creating opportunities to bring everyone together!

I’m passionate about kids and our community! You can often find me at the downtown Beacon Soccer field or at a high school soccer game. I love supporting the youth in our community. At one time, I was one of them, and now I get to give back in ways that I knew the troubled child I was needed. (But that’s another story for another time.)

This makes me so happy!

Last week I got a message that all of my social media accounts were under investigation… someone reported false allegations on All things soccer 517 and meta Suspended all my accounts. It was nerve wrecking!

This week I got this message from one of our local HS players. Building Bridges.
What a shift.
