There’s a lot more behind a race car than what you see on the starting line.

For Randy Slawson , it started in 2008 with a personal race car built for King of the Hammers. Today, more than 50 Bomber cars are out there, along with 100+ customer-built chassis.

We caught up with the team to talk building for the Hammers, the challenge of getting those final details right, the builds they’re most proud of, and why they keep coming back to the rocks.

The championship chase is heating up. Two regional races remain, valuable points are still on the table, and then it's time for 2026 Ultra4 USA Nationals in Hazard, Kentucky, on October 14–18.

Two days of championship racing. The best ULTRA4 racers from across the country. And when the final checkered flag falls Saturday, the 2026 ULTRA4 USA National Champions will be crowned.

But Nationals is bigger than what happens on the race course.

Come early, explore Eastern Kentucky, experience the fall scenery, support the local restaurants and businesses, and join us Thursday evening for the Parade to Downtown Kick Off Party.

Then Saturday night, the town will host the ULTRA4 USA Championship Awards Ceremony, bringing racers, teams, fans and the community together to celebrate the 2026 season.

ONLY 5,000 SPECTATOR TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE.

Our friends at 29 Palms Marine Base have announced the upcoming temporary closures of the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area for critical military training.

If you’re headed to Johnson Valley, please plan accordingly and respect all posted closures.
