The mistakes are where we learn…
Super proud of both Rugby and Nikki this weekend! Both went to Loch Moy for the Dover Saddlery MDHT Highland Series. Both were good in the dressage. I then messed up Rugby’s show jumping warm up so we decided to knock all of them down - oops. He was absolutely fantastic for the XC! Nikki absolutely nailed her show jumping, even with the big, scary, wall of ivy and banners! The XC proved too overwhelming this time so she left me at fence five and returned to the barn to keep Rugby company - oops, again. I now have a clear plan on what to work on with both of them and am excited to make the changes for them to keep learning and gaining confidence in all they do! A huge thank you to everyone at Loch Moy for another great show! And to Alex for letting me ride her ridiculous pony!

This pony was SO happy to be back at a Lucinda clinic! After figuring out some bitting issues on day one (which was still amazing! And hard. So hard.), Rugby was thrilled to be out on the xc course on day two for more fun challenges! This pony LOVES everything he does and getting to ride him is such a pleasure 🥰 If you’ve followed Rugby from the beginning of his jumping journey, you’ll know ditches have been a tough thing for him. We’ve been working hard on making them less scary and now if he feels he needs to take a peek, it results is some pretty fancy footwork instead of being catapulted into the stratosphere to make sure nothing pops out and gets him. A giant thank you to Alex for letting me pilot the wonder pony around! And to everyone at Loch Moy for all the work you do to put on these fantastic clinics.

Alex and Rugby (Up and Under), DeeDee and Lizzy (RWS Legendary Gal), and Stacey and Xander all had a super outing at Region 1 championships a couple of weeks ago! The sheer size of this show, and the atmosphere that comes with it, was a first for all three horses and we all are so so proud of how they took it all in! While we all want to set the world on fire in a championship setting, our real goal was to have a positive, confidence building experience for all three horses, and that’s exactly what happened! It was a great few days sharing an aisle with wonderful, kind people and horses. A huge thank you to the volunteers, judges, staff, etc for a fantastic show!
