The main feature of Lake Placid is the bike course. The elevation gain makes it tough compared to many triathlon courses ⛰️

Here are the numbers ⚡️
• 4:54:55 - 22.6 mph - 112 miles
• 238 avg and 250 NP for the whole ride
• 242 avg for 4 hours
• 248 avg for 3 hours
• 258 avg for 2 hours
• Anything 2-5 hours was a PR (crazy considering a marathon was looming 🤯)
• Quite happy with this at 63-64 kg. I think racing at sea level was working in my favor 🌊

The guys up front are incredibly strong. The only time I may of put time into anyone else in the pro field was through some technical bits. I snagged a KOM through town on the course with several tight turns and a sketchy descent. This photo is at the bottom of that hill bomb. Shoutout to the volunteer in the back (they were amazing all day 🙏)

Lake Placid Ironman 🔥 This race meant the world to me 🫶 I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve truly been proud of my triathlon performance and this one of them 🥹 I never really “hit the wall” and just kept pushing on all day. Honestly, the last 6 hours of the race I felt the strongest. 9:06:18 for 27th in the pro men’s race 🤠

Tomorrow is race day 🔥 I have had many great performances working with Coach Mace over the past few years… Clermont EDR, Pro Card, CSU Nationals, IM 70.3’s, and so on… Ready for my Pro Ironman debut! Spun the wheels on the 4th of July at the Fire Kracker 5k by 🧨 15:53 gets you 23rd at a local race in Colorado 😅 Anyhow, I’m quite happy with my leg current leg speed. I’m deep in the weeds of my Lake Placid build. 13 more sleeps until blast off 🚀
