Coach Josh LaMay
11U Assistant Coach

Coach Josh is a husband and father of two awesome kids and a former college football player. He brings over 10 years of experience as an assistant baseball coach at several high schools, including Clarkston High School, where he also spent nine years as an assistant football coach. He has also coached softball at various levels for the past three years.

Coach Josh’s favorite part of coaching is watching kids grow as both people and athletes. He enjoys highlighting the life lessons sports can teach and values teaching kids the history of the game and what it means to be a ballplayer, a lifelong athlete, and, most importantly, a good person.

What a great 1st double header of the season against a good team, Stars! 🧡🖤 The girls came out focused, ready to play, and battled hard all day. They fought hard and finished the day with two wins! 💪

Our focus this season is Character and Fundamentals, and both truly shined through today. The girls showed heart, teamwork, resilience, and a whole lot of fight!
Way to go, girls!! So proud of you!

Coach Kourtney Genereaux
11U Assistant Coach

Coach Kourtney, a mom of two, grew up playing competitive softball and varsity softball at Lake Orion High School. A multi-sport athlete, she also competed in basketball, swimming, and volleyball.

Kourtney has volunteered and coached at various levels over the past three years. She believes the lessons learned through softball—working hard, being a great teammate, responding to adversity, and competing with confidence—carry far beyond the field. Her goal is to build confident girls who feel prepared to handle whatever life throws at them—and have a whole lot of fun while they’re doing it. 🧡🖤🥎

Pickles & pizza for the 11U-Zajac team!! 🥒🍕🧡🖤

After working on "pickles" at practice, we HAD to finish the night with some delicious pickles, pizza, and lots of laughs! 😂

We also got to celebrate TWO birthdays, which made the night even more special! 🎂🎉

Good food, great laughs, and an even better group of girls! 🧡🖤 🥎

Let’s get to know our coaches… first up

Coach Mike Urban
11u Assistant Coach 🥎

Coach Mike brings 3 years of travel softball coaching experience and 4 years of park and rec coaching to the Edge 11U Zajac team. A former high school baseball player, he still carries one lesson from his playing days with him: small ball wins ball games. So don’t be surprised to see a big grin from Coach Mike when a perfectly placed bunt turns into a base hit!

His coaching approach centers on strong fundamentals, smart situational play, teamwork, and building confidence in every player. He enjoys helping the girls learn the game, trust their skills, and understand how the little things can make a big difference on the field.

For Coach Mike, though, it’s about more than wins and losses. One of the best parts of coaching is watching the team grow throughout the season—developing as players, coming together as teammates, and becoming better people both on and off the field.
