This weekend we cooked at one of our favorite events, Bring'n Home the Bacon, which was a double near Lacrosse, WI. Every contest there is always really well run with the best of the best teams as well as experienced, trained judges.
Day 1 had 40 teams competing, making it one of the largest backyard competitions there are. We took a disappointing 22nd in chicken but scored a 1st place rib call! That 1st place rib call gets us invited to the 2022 KCBS World invitational BBQ, which keeps our streak alive for being invited every year so far. We were thrilled to hear our name last. Everything we used to cook, from rubs, sauces and fuel we got from our favorite supply store, Anderson BBQ Supply, thank you for your support! A huge congratulations to Wrecking Crew Barbecue for a well earned GC!
Day 2 was another good one with an improved chicken call of 15th and a 7th in ribs. We'll take it! Furlongs Smoke & Seafood won GC and likely wrapped up the MN Team of the Year championship. Great season guys!
We made the decision before the year to focus our time and energy on KCBS sanctioned contests. Here are some interesting stats on our adventurous year:

Top ten rib calls: 11 (every contest cooked)

New friends and memories made: Way too many to count
It's been a long, fun and sometimes frustrating year. We have no regrets and would do it all over again. We are pooped though, we'll take the winter break. Thanks for everything you did this year Gregg LeCuyer, (pops)!
