Great find! Fred said,” Doris the Explorer is at it again!”
We were suppose to spend the night at a Moose Lodge in VA but the parking lot was way to tight to get our 40’ fifth wheel in the lot. So plan B! Drive another hour closer to camp and stay at the T/A Plaza for the night and grab some dinner there. Then I saw a large sign in the highway for the Tamarack Best of WV Marketplace. Okay…so I called them and changed our nightly destination. Wow, what a place! Beautiful handcrafted items for sale inside and an Art Garden outside which you can also contact the artist to get your own. They have several “do it yourself” classes with blown glass and other crafts. Several of the local artist have their workshops in there and you can watch them create their masterpieces! There are WV t-shirts and souvenirs as well. There is a snack shop with ice cream and a restaurant that serves food for all, Burgers to Salmon! If you’re traveling Route 77/64 N (towards Charleston, WV) check it out! We bought several hand crafted items! (Earrings, Sourwood Honey, Ramp Jam, and Craft Beer!) Plus we ate at the Restaurant and it was great! Good prices and a good portion! There’s a special parking lot of RV’s and Busses and they allow overnight parking! It was a win, win! Now we are relaxing on the lawn with our lawn chairs and a drink! Feeling blessed and grateful!

One of West Virginia’s best spring festivals, the Alderson Strawberry Festival, kicks off in May at the Sunset Berry Farm in Alderson! The big day is Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 10 AM to 4 PM, when the town and farm fill with music, food, and strawberry fun. Start your day in town at the Market on Alderson Memorial Bridge where vendors sell fresh strawberries by the pint and ice-cold strawberry lemonade. You’ll also find arts and crafts booths, food trucks, a car and motorcycle cruise-in, yard sales, live music, and tours of the historic train depot. Greenbrier River Campground, Alderson, WV

Spend your season along the Greenbrier River! What a gorgeous place to visit and a lot of history.

We are seeking ONE workamping couples to work with us for the 2026 Camping Season.
April 1-Oct 31

Positions: Office/Store, Maintenance/grounds keeper, and Housekeeping

Maintenance: Must be flexible, able to lift 40 lbs, knowlege of a zero turn and tractor is a plus, will train. Host: prefer that you have computer skills but will train.

Duties include but not limited to: Office, store, Bathhouse and cabin cleaning/laundy, RV and Tent site clean-up, other maintenance tasks, mowing, renting river equipment and shuttle driver.
Must have a Valid Drivers License.

Some hours are Work for site and all other hours are paid per hour: Your site includes: W/E/S and laundry, wifi, store and family & friends discount. Pay starts at $15 per hour.

Each couple works 2-3 days a week 4-6 hours a day. Hours vary depending on need.
