Here is an update on the kitten we sort of raised as a community.
The little foundling that I brought to work everyday.
We all bottle fed him.
I cleaned his little sick eyes.
We all babied him and coddled him until he was able to be placed with Awaiting Arms Rescue Sanctuary
One community member gave him a name that stuck; Toast. That's the name the rescue went with.
Toast is doing amazing and look at how handsome he is!!!
The community did a great job taking care of this little one and giving him a chance to bring joy to others.
When they say "it takes a village" this is what ours did for Toast.

Tales from the Resale:

So a fella comes into the store and he is flipping through all my switch plate covers. He has this one in his hand but he is just frantically digging.

I asked if I could help him find something.
He said, "Oh yes; I need one of these, but I need the toggle switch opening on the other side."

I pause; waiting to see if it dawns on him. Nope! It does not.

I said; "I think I can help. Let me take a look at this." I said; "boy the ones on the left are pretty hard to find. I also think because of how rare they are to find they cost a few bucks more. If I find one in my back stock do you still want it?"
He said; "Yes; I have looked all over I really need one on the left."
I said; ok I will be right back.

I walked to the back flipped it over and put a new price tag on it. When I came back with the rare left sided toggle plate he was ecstatic! He paid the price and gave me a great review.

I want to make sure all of my customers feel special.

I guess I'm going to have to bring back my "Take My Money Monday" show on YouTube.

Today while waiting for Mark to go to an appointment I went next door to the Goodwill and wandered around. I saw this interesting box buried on the cart they rolled out from the pricing room.

The cart was piled high and I was in no hurry so I took my time to paw through it. This was at the very bottom. It was really heavy and the hardware was really old looking. The finish looked really old. Well for $5.99 I thought I'm grabbing it. Even if it's nothing super special it's still pretty cool.

I got it home and did the research. This is a wooden Captains writing chest. It would have contained things like a wooden nib pen, an ink well, a wax seal, and important documents (or as Mark jokingly added "The Captains Log"). The earliest models were made in the 1700's. Replicas like this still sell in the range of $130-$140. Not a bad find.

I love Thrifting! It's the thrill of the hunt!

We made a trek to Mt Pleasant and back, and I also had to run to town real quick. Side Roads are horrible. The corners are Sheet Ice. Main Roads are getting pretty bad. Visibility is pretty limited, but really bad in places where it's drifting. If you can stay home I highly recommend it. If you go out I pray for your safety.
I'd say keep it between the lines but instead I will say good luck finding them.

The roads are really hazardous. We just tried to head out to a medical appt and turned around. It was better to reschedule than risk wrecking the car and/or getting hurt. Even after the Salt truck on 55 we were sliding sideways towards the shoulder. If you are able to stay home I would highly recommend it.
