As the spring season is coming to an end, I can’t help but reflect on what an amazing journey this has been.
This year, we started a brand-new 10U Blaze team. They were young, inexperienced, and still learning the game, but what they lacked in experience, they made up for with heart, determination, and a willingness to learn. Over the course of the season, I had the privilege of watching these girls grow—not only as softball players, but as teammates, competitors, and young women.
They worked hard, faced challenges, celebrated victories, learned from setbacks, and never stopped improving. Their skills developed, their softball IQ grew, and most importantly, they learned the value of trusting and supporting one another. They became more than a team—they became a family.
As a coach, there is no greater reward than watching young athletes believe in themselves and achieve things they once thought were out of reach. I couldn’t be more proud of every player who put on that Blaze jersey and gave their all every time they stepped onto the field.
We have one final tournament together on July 17–19, and I can’t wait to watch them compete one more time and continue building on everything they’ve accomplished. This is only the beginning of their journey, and I know their best softball is still ahead of them.
For me, this season is also a reminder that growth never stops. As one chapter comes to an end, another begins. I am incredibly thankful to the Blaze organization for believing in me and providing opportunities to continue growing as a coach and leader in this game that I love.
The lessons learned, relationships built, and memories made this season will stay with me forever. Here’s to chasing new goals, embracing new challenges, and continuing to make a positive impact on the next generation of athletes.
One door closes. Another opens.
