Three cheers for our boy George who is now cancer free! 🎉🥳
From the very beginning, George has supported our shop in every way he can—from dropping off boxes of chocolates from the sweet shop to stopping in for a friendly hello whenever he rides by after a shift at Marge’s.
George is one of those people who makes a neighborhood feel like a neighborhood, and we’re lucky to have him rolling through our doors.

Folks were closed today but looking forward to tomorrow. Stop in the shop for excellent deals in time Christmas. To make things easier, we can hold gifts until the December 23rd so no stress about storing a fun surprise. 🚲 ⚡️ 🙂

Join us this coming Monday (9/29) for a social group ride starting at the northern end of Riverside Park (near the La Crosse Queen boat launch). We will meet-up at 6pm, rolling out at 6:15. The ride will be party pace with a focus on riding many different infrastructure types (bike path, residential streets, bike lanes, etc.) lasting around 7 miles! Come say hi and kick off Week Without Driving!

Wrench & Roll will be closed this Saturday, August 16 because we are heading to Copper Harbor—home to some of the best mountain biking in the country. 🤘
Plus, we’ve got one of our awesome team members Travis competing in a big race around the lake on the east side of Wisconsin 🏁💪. Go !

The Wrench & Roll Collective is ‘More Than a Bike Shop’ and serves as a community resource for helping people be more active, as they pursue healthier living. Wrench & Roll Collective received a Gold Member Bicycle Friendly Business in 2019! Matthew Christen, rider, facilitator, mechanic, Licensed Cycling Instructor, Group Fitness instructor, and educator, owns Wrench & Roll.
The shop offers bikes to fit your budget and riding styles with a selection of used and new bikes. We take trade-ins, donations, and will buy selected pre-owned bikes. New bikes include Jamis, Marin, and Reid. Surly bikes can be ordered. You will find plenty of accessories to fill out your biking needs. New bicycle purchases include a 3 point fitting using a stationary trainer. Getting you off to a great start for an enjoyable ride experience is our goal! We also include a coupon for your next tune-up, 20% off accessories, and we license bicycles for FREE through the City of La Crosse Police Department.
One of our specialties includes custom wheel building, especially when dynamo hubs and internal gear hubs are applied for commuting and all weather riding! We carry Shimano, Shutter Precision, and Panasonic dynamo hubs. Busch-Muller, German made lights and lighting accessories. You will never need to recharge or replace a battery again. Dynamo hubs will ;act a minimum of 35,000 miles!
The Wrench & Roll Collective offers a Do It Yourself Space, tool equipped for your bike projects. Membership includes 2 free hours per month in the DIY Space. Walk-in DIY space rental are also available. Have a little maintenance to do on your bike? Want to try it out yourself? Thinking about accessorizing your bike? The tools will be ready- professional stand, tools, vise, etc. available. Scheduling will be necessary during peak times. Learn from others, do a project with a friend, or just see what you can learn. A limited amount of used parts will be available for purchase.
Our Concierge Service provides professional Guidance for short, local, themed rides. Some themed rides include- A La Crosse Sculpture Tour, an Architectural Tour, a Brewery Tour, and Recreational Rides- see La Crosse via bike trails and visit some of the park and scenic areas. We can provide bike rentals for groups up to 10. Check in with us if your group is larger to accommodate needs. We can bring bikes to select starting locations. Rides usually last about 60-90 minutes and start with tips for riding and some education along the way to help build riding confidence and keep your ride safe and secure. How a bout a Scavenger Hunt? Want to take in the Hand-Made Ice Creameries in La Crosse? We also provide customized rides, give us a call!
Throughout the year educational classes help equip riders of all sorts - from the absolute beginner to an experienced rider, there's something for everyone. Wrench 4 Women, Wrench Wednesdays, SmartCycling classes, Special Maintenance topics, commuting, S24O Adventure series, and others are offered through out the year. Keep an eye on our events calendar!
The Collective also has an active transportation library you can come in, read, browse, and maybe connect with others with similar ideas or goals. That's the spirit of a collective!
