Neat Rips Sports Cards Neat Rips Sports Cards™ is an independent hobby blog. We participate in affiliate programs. My name is Rob. I am a father, and a US ARMY Veteran.

I am an avid outdoorsman and a collector. I have been a sports card, trading card, gaming, and Comic collector for over 30 years. From the time I was in elementary school and got my first pack of baseball cards to now, I have had a love for collectibles, games, and sports. Over the years I have collected Comic books, Trading and gaming cards such as Magic the Gathering and Pokémon, as well as All types of sports cards; football and basketball eventually becoming my favorite. I have a love for most all sports though Football is my #1 passion. Growing up watching Joe Montana, Mike Tomczak, William "The Fridge" Perry, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Reggie White and so many more; to watch as the game has evolved and become what it is today has been amazing. As for gaming, I have been an avid MTG and Pokémon player for many many years. I have dabbled many times with Dungeons & Dragons and Star Wars, as well as at one point collected and played Warhammer 40K pretty extensively for several years. I am a huge sports fan. My teams are the Forty-Niners, Blazers, Mariners, and the Oregon Ducks. I know, it's quite the hodgepodge of teams, but they are all the best and you cannot change my mind! I love sports, sports cards, gaming and most other trading cards, and to me is one of the finer pleasures of my now adult life to sit down with a neat poor of my favorite whiskey, and play some games, rip some packs, or just enjoy watching others as they blast into a great pull of their favorite players.

‼️ eBay MUST ANSWER FOR THIS. PLEASE SHARE.‼️

I’m a Top Rated eBay seller, and there is a serious problem with eBay Standard Envelope that is hurting sports card and trading card sellers.

First, understand why sellers use it.

A huge part of the card market is made up of inexpensive singles — cards worth $0.50, $1, $2, $3, etc. Nobody is going to buy a $0.50 card if shipping costs $6+.

That is exactly why eBay offers Standard Envelope: it lets sellers mail lower-value cards at a much cheaper rate so small card transactions are actually possible.

The problem is the tracking.

Standard Envelope does not work like normal package tracking. It moves through automated letter-mail equipment, scans can be inconsistent, and there is often no final delivery scan.

That creates a major loophole:

Seller ships the card.
Tracking may show it moving through the mail — sometimes even reaching the buyer’s local area.
There is no final delivery scan.
The buyer claims “item not received.”
eBay refunds the buyer.
The seller loses the card, the sale proceeds, the postage — and then the claim can also hurt the seller’s account standing.

And this is where eBay needs to answer.

If eBay created and promotes this shipping method specifically for low-cost cards, knowing that final delivery scans are not always available, why are sellers being punished when that exact limitation occurs?

Even worse, the system can be exploited by dishonest buyers who understand that the lack of a final scan may allow them to claim non-delivery and receive a refund.

I have contacted eBay repeatedly about this issue. Instead of fixing the underlying problem, these claims have affected my seller standing, promotional abilities, listing visibility, and ultimately my business.

So my questions to are simple:

Why are sellers being financially punished for the limitations of a shipping service eBay created?

What is eBay doing to identify buyers who repeatedly file “item not received” claims on Standard Envelope shipments?

Why should a seller lose the card, the money, and their account standing when tracking shows the item moved through the postal network but eBay’s own shipping method does not provide reliable final-delivery confirmation?

I have already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and I will continue escalating this issue.

If you sell sports cards, Pokémon, TCG, collectibles, or anything using eBay Standard Envelope and this has happened to you:

Small sellers deserve a shipping option that is affordable without becoming an easy system to exploit.

If you’re into sports jerseys and apparel, this eBay store is worth digging through. There are some seriously good finds across the shop, especially if you like hunting for team gear without just sticking to the big-name retailers.

I’ve been scrolling through The Swede Mom Store, and there’s a LOT of jerseys and sports apparel to look through. Definitely one of those eBay stores where the hunt is half the fun.

For the Cooper Flagg collectors, here’s one of the rookie-year Chrome chases that deserves some attention. The **Skylight Refractor** gives Flagg’s RC a completely different look from the base card and makes for one sharp piece in a growing Flagg collection.
