Why do new swimmers need to tryout for Summer Rec?

We get this question every year, so let's clear it up.

The tryout for Summer Rec is simple. We just need to see your swimmer complete one full length of the pool — on their front and on their back — without stopping.

That's it. No butterfly. No Breaststroke No flip turns. No pressure.

It's just to make sure the program is the right fit so every swimmer can keep up and have fun.

Summer Rec is back — and registration opens May 1!

If your swimmer is ages 6–17 and can swim one length of the pool on their front AND back, this program was made for them.
