Little late with this Dawson update:
We will travel to Memphis on July 20th. Doc in Memphis said a minimum stay of a week. This will be for extensive cognitive study, an endepth MRI. Histio experts will be picking him apart basically. They aren't sure if the growth hormones are the cause of the new large spots on his brain. He developed lesions several times after initial cancer diagnosis. He has lesion in the parietal lobe. Lesion in frontal lobe. He had 2 small lesions In right temporal lobe now he has 4 but the 2 new ones are very big. And the white matter around his brain has grown 2 times thicker. He was originally diagnosed Oct 2013 with a a cancerous pituitary tumor. Which automatically caused diabetes insipidus. He was in liver failure from his first chemo due to an unknown allergy. He was also diagnosed with hypoadrenalism. He spent 52 weeks on chemo. During the course of maintenance scans. Lesions popped up. He was then diagnosed with neurodigenerative disease. Everyone knows Dawson and his behavioral issues...most of which aren't 100% his fault due to everything in his brain. A few months back it was discovered he was no longer growing, and was/is in need of growth hormone. Growth hormone can be iffy with cancer patients bc cancer could be lingering its like plant food for tumors. He will also need puberty hormones in due time.
But, 3.5 months later....here we are with this devastating news.
So, please....pray this is not the reoccurance of cancer...pray the degeneration is minimal. Pray he will be able to function normally as long as possible. He's truly a great kid... he's been through soooooo much.
