While Courtex Performance LLC was founded in 2013, Owner and Lead Mental Coach Dr. Rainer J. Meisterjahn has provided mental training for clients at all levels, including the NBA, FIBA, and NCAA D-I, II, and III since 2007. Rainer has had the unique opportunity to work with accomplished NBA players like Tobias Harris (Orlando Magic) and coaches like Adrian Griffin (Chicago Bulls) as well as numerous others at all levels of basketball who are motivated to elevate their mental game. Additionally, in 2013 Rainer served as a consultant to the Milwaukee Bucks organization, developing interview guides, conducting numerous NBA Pre-Draft interviews, administering and interpreting mental assessments, and breaking down his observations for the front office. Courtex Performance LLC’s approach is anchored in a firm belief in continuous learning. Over the years, Rainer has broadened his knowledge about the mental game of basketball in personal interactions with NBA players (e.g., former All-Stars Jermaine O’Neal and Dale Ellis), NBA coaches (e.g., Adrian Griffin, Chicago Bulls), NBA front office personnel and staff (e.g., John Hammond, Milwaukee Bucks GM; Jeff Weltman, Toronto Raptors Assistant GM; Dr. Keith Henschen, Utah Jazz Sport Psychology Consultant; Dr. Jack Lesyk, Cleveland Cavaliers Sport Psychology Consultant), NCAA coaches (e.g., Cuonzo Martin, University of California Men’s Basketball; Tyler Summitt, Louisiana Tech Women’s Basketball), and international players (e.g., Tremmell Darden, Real Madrid Baloncesto) and coaches (e.g., Mike Koch, Medi Bayreuth; Chris Ensminger, Oettinger Rockets Gotha). In combination with his applied consulting work, Rainer has presented at numerous international conferences and spoken about the mental game of basketball to players and coaches at Joe Abunassar’s Impact Basketball Academy in Las Vegas and at Mike Lee Basketball in Milwaukee. Rainer has also designed and implemented on-court skills workouts for players such as Tobias Harris (Orlando Magic) and Chris Lofton (former All-American, University of Tennessee) and assisted with numerous other NBA player workouts (e.g., John Wall, J.J. Hickson, Jared Dudley) while also coaching several youth teams in Germany. As an undergraduate student, Rainer played for the UMM Clippers basketball team in Machias, ME. He also competed for SOBA Dragons Rhöndorf in the Regionalliga 2 and founded the T.V. 1890 Schmallenberg e.V. basketball department in Germany.
