Yesterday was proof that presence matters. I drove 4 hours to the Capitol on less than 24 hours’ notice to lobby against Tennessee HB 1971, because in its current form, I believe it opens the door to language and enforcement that could infringe on the rights of lawful gun owners and weaken Second Amendment protections through vague and unfinished verbiage. I showed up, stood my ground, and refused to leave unheard. It’s not always about shooting, training, and gear; sometimes the moment calls for something more. Sometimes it calls for your voice. They may not have expected to see me there, and they definitely didn’t expect me to matter, but sometimes all it takes is showing up, speaking clearly, and standing firm. Trial by fire 🔥, and I came back tempered, not burned.
When the State’s intent is to protect itself from the people, that is when the people need the most protection from the State.
P.S. Driving Winfield Dunn Parkway every day, then seeing his portrait as one of the first things in the Capitol, felt like one of those moments that was meant to happen.
Thank you , let’s make some change… and hold true what already was 🇺🇸!!
