DID YOU KNOW that in 2025 Big Ridge State Park opened the Lyon’s Loop Trail, a 1.5 Miles Multi-Use Trail.

This 1.5-mile multi-use trail is the park’s first mountain biking trail. The trail contains some twists and turns as well as inclines and declines through the hardwood forest. The trail is named for its proximity to Lyon’s Spring Branch, and it runs along property that was owned by Mrs. Calvin Lyons before TVA acquired the land. The trail is wide enough to be used by both bikers and hikers, but hikers should always yield to the bikers while on this trail. The parking lot for the trail is located approximately .5 miles east of the main park entrance, off State Highway 61 W. The gate opens at 9:00 AM daily (weather permitting) and closes 30 minutes before sunset.

🚨🎴 Registration is open for the 2026 NATS Poker Run! 🎴🚨

🗓️ This fun, non-competitive mountain bike poker run is hosted by the Norris Area Trail System (NATS) to raise funds for trail construction and maintenance throughout our trail network.

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a casual adventurer, this event is designed for MOST skill levels and focuses on fun over competition. The routes feature a mix of single-track trails, gravel, asphalt, and some challenging climbs — perfect for riders ready to enjoy the trails and support a great cause! 🚵‍♀️✨

📍 Where? The run starts and ends at Clinch River Brewing. The run uses trails in Norris Dam State Park and the Norris Watershed.
🎟️ When? April 25, 2026
🃏 Why? To raise funds for trail construction & maintenance

Norris Dam State Park will be hosting the first hike of the new year. Join Ranger Trent at the Canteen to go on the Elkins trail for a 2.50-mile hike. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather. This event is free to attend; however, please consider donating upon registration!
