Come out and cheer us on this Friday, September 4th at Kinross Raceway Park for the Season Championship at the Chippewa County Fairgrounds!

We got a very late start in the Modified division so we’re certainly not in contention for the Championship, but it’s always a goal to pull off a feature win, especially during the Fair.

We’ll be in the Orange and White #33 Open Wheel Modified sponsored by:
Mark's Tire, Inc.

Odbert Racing (Al Odbert)

I’m floored about what to even say about today. What an absolute blast we had. Today came with its highs and lows. We got bugs worked out first thing this morning and kept at it slowly making the car better and better, pulling off fast time and hitting a 14.4 in qualifying.

Feature 1: We started off just hanging back to get a feel for traffic, and after a few laps we picked it up and started navigating from the tail end of the field up to 3rd by the time the checkered came out, the car was handling great.

Feature 2: We once again got started at the tail of the field after an unfortunate mix up with the starting lineup, (we should have took the green p6 on the outside of row 3) after the little bit of frustration that came with that, we slapped the visor down and just accepted it and got after it, navigating traffic was a much bigger challenge during this race as we had some squirrels that couldn’t pick what lane they wanted to be in and were using the whole track up, finally saw an opening and went for it and unfortunately got the nose chopped on the exit of turn 4 that ended our night.

All in all, it was a great day, we learned, we got better, and we far exceeded the initial goals for the first time out in this car.

Thank you to everyone that came out and watched, helped, and cheered us on!

And again, a huge shoutout to our crew and sponsors that make any of this attainable:

First race in the books for the season. Fought an understeering issue that had us loose off the corner, but managed a p3 in qualifying, played with some changes and the car showed some potential in the heat race scoring a p2 after they gave us the checker under yellow due to an incident involving Al Odbert and Jerry Artuso. Come feature time the car was getting some oil into the exhaust and we were sent back pitside and were unable to start the race. Al was able to take the green flag and had a fast car that was on the move, unfortunately got tangled up with Paul Fox and ended his night as well. Hopefully get these issues addressed and be back at it again in a couple weeks.

Thanks to everyone that made it out to the races! I know it was a busy weekend in the EUP with plenty of events going on in the area, but the grandstands had a much better turnout than expected!

And again thank you to our sponsors:

And everyone that helps out with getting these monsters ready to hit the track.
