Message from Coach Carranza:
Team,
I will not be returning next year to HM King.
As I step away from this program, I want to take a moment to tell you how proud I am of each and every one of you. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of being your coach.
When I first arrived, I saw potential. Today, I see a group of young men who have worked tirelessly, grown tremendously, and helped build something special. Because of your commitment, effort, and belief in each other, I truly feel that this program is in a better place than when I found it.
Wins and losses will always be part of soccer, but they are not what I will remember most. I will remember the early mornings, the long practices, the laughter, the challenges we faced together, and the way you continued to push forward even when things were difficult. I watched you grow not only as players, but as teammates, leaders, and men.
As you continue your journey, remember that success is not defined by a scoreboard. Success is showing up when things get hard. It's having the courage to keep working when no one is watching. It's believing in yourself when others doubt you. The same qualities that make great athletes—discipline, resilience, teamwork, and determination—will help you succeed in life far beyond the soccer field. Never underestimate what you are capable of achieving. Set high standards for yourselves. Be willing to outwork the competition. Learn from setbacks, celebrate your successes humbly, and always take care of the people around you. Most importantly, leave every place you go better than you found it. That's what great teams do. That's what great men do.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Coaching you has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I will always be grateful for the memories we created together and for the impact you've had on me. I wish each of you nothing but success—in soccer, in school, and in life. Keep chasing your goals, keep believing in yourselves, and never stop growing.
