The Ulster Nine took to the field for their final engagements of the year, meeting the Kingston Guards Vintage Base Ball Club in a spirited twin bill. Though the lads of Ulster were bested in both contests, they played with fine resolve and good humor throughout.

Thus ends our abbreviated three-game campaign — a humble beginning for a club with grand ambitions. We look ahead to 2026, when we shall return with renewed vigor, fresh matches, and stouter competition across the county.

Our gratitude to all the cranks who lent their cheers and good company this season. The Nine shall rise again!

The Ulster Nine want to thank all the cranks who came out to Marbletown for our inaugural game! Though the Kingston Guards Vintage Base Ball Club bested us 17–6, we couldn’t be prouder to have taken the field and written the first chapter of our story.

We’re already looking ahead — hoping to play one more game in 2025 before pursuing a full season in 2026. If you’re interested in joining the Nine, send us a message — we’d love to grow the club!

A special thanks to the Ulster County Historical Society for sponsoring today’s match and helping us bring history to life on the diamond.

Here’s to many more games, many more hurrahs, and the start of something special for base ball in Ulster County.

The Ulster Nine are taking the field for the very first time — and we couldn’t ask for a better opponent than our friends the Kingston Guards.

Join us this Saturday in Marbletown at Marbletown Park on Tongore Road at 1PM as we step back to 1864 rules base ball: no gloves, underhand pitching, one-bounce outs, and plenty of old-time spirit.

A special thank you to the Ulster County Historical Society for organizing it.

🚨Hat Drop🚨

Our cap isn’t just decoration — it’s a tribute to Ulster County’s Civil War legacy. The 20th New York Infantry, the Ulster Guard, mustered in Kingston and fought with distinction at Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and at Gettysburg, where they helped repel Pickett’s Charge. The symbol still stands today on monuments at Gettysburg honoring the Ulster Guard and their sacrifice.

The 20th fought alongside the 120th New York Infantry — the very regiment that inspired our friends, the Kingston Guards Vintage Base Ball Club, in their own vintage base ball identity.

By wearing these hats, we honor that shared history and keep it alive every time we take the field under 1864 rules.
