Injuries, schedules, obligations. All sorts of challenges get thrown your way in tournament scheduling. This weekend was far from perfect but these ladies still found a way to be one of the last to leave the park. After having a Saturday that was a hodge podge of results with nothing going our way at times, we enjoyed some fellowship and then came back out Sunday with a different kind of resolve. They had to drown out more noise, negativity and adversity in one game than possibly ever this season to earn their way to the end, but we were so proud of them today for their effort, mental toughness, and the joy and class with which they continue to go about their business. The journey continues.

Inducted us an additional assistant coach helper this weekend too!

We are blessed!

Yesterday we officially turned the calendar over to the fall season and first season of 14u ball. Even fighting against injuries and sickness, these ladies didn’t mess around. Nearly threw two shutouts in pool play and earned the top seed in the 12-team field. Earned their way into the championship with a hard fought battle in bracket play. Unfortunately championship nixed by rain but closed the day going 3-0 and a total 21-2 run margin. Really proud of these ladies.

This crew quietly had a really successful summer 12u campaign. A couple of our girls are even eligible to go 12u another year. Back in July we made the decision to make the move to 14u early. Our first 14u tournament was canceled due to rain. But the last two weekends we’ve gotten to go ahead and make the move.

We are so incredibly proud of these girls the last couple weekends. They have rolled right into the transition head on without complaining or second guessing and facing the challenge set before them.

We are by far not short on softball talent in this area so they have immediately encountered some high caliber teams these two weekends. The first couple games of 14u they held leads entering the final inning against tough opponents.

Today they came out firing and took their first win in opening game and a tough close loss in the second, but holding onto gold bracket seeding. Came up with a big win against the #3 seed only to turn around and face the #2 seed again, leading for the entirety of a high quality softball game and dropping only by a walkoff run in an international tiebreaker finish and falling one run shy of playing for a championship the second tournament in. Final result being 3rd in the overall 11 team field.

We are not the biggest, most powerful team out there and to do this early throws us into some situations where we are facing established teams some players that are about to be aged to 16u. But man our girls are clawing and going after it!

It’s an incredible blessing to watch these girls grow and be a part of such fun times. Looking forward to continuing the process!

Peep those new uni's. And we put them to good use and got them dirty yesterday. 😆

Another great day on 6/6 at the Dudley Classic. Our girls continued to play solid ball and went 4-1 on the day, taking the 2 seed after pool play and bringing home some more hardware, only losing in the championship nightcap in a really good 1-0 well played game. Proud of our girls. Every player up and down the roster contributed and continues to grow. As a team we executed soundly all day to keep ourselves in positions that we needed to be in.

So much fun to coach this squad!

Our East TN area is blessed to continue generating really good softball.

Great day on 5/30 for Velo XIII in the James Ellis memorial tournament. 3-1 on the day with a stellar 3-0 shutout in a silver bracket championship nightcap.

We had one teammate that was busy cheering and getting us from the WCWS in OKC!

Our cups are full on Saturdays with this crew. God blesses us richly!

These girls are back at it again. Kicking off an exciting summer ahead. They worked their tails off yesterday, controlled the controllables, showed grit and worked hard to put themselves in position for a championship battle against a really good Barrels squad. Fell a step short but these girls are so much fun and they are growing in every aspect. Love these girls and thank God for them, proud of their hard work this weekend and looking forward to a fun summer and fall season ahead.
