Well this post is definitely a hard one to make. I have been postponing to make a race report for a few reasons. One is due to with what approach I was going to do for the last race of the season, and the other is how hard of a pill to swallow it is
with how the year has been going.

For starters, the race didn’t go as planned unfortunately. We were having a smooth clean race breaking the rust off and finally found a groove running in 2nd, until MP 54 we blew the motor resulting in catching the car on fire for a short amount of time. No one was hurt when it happened, with the fire pretty much out by the time we got out of the car. It was a devastating experience, but that’s part of the game when it comes to desert racing, as all fellow competitors would know.

With how the season has been going financially in terms of internal issues with the car and how we haven’t finished a race except for one back in February at the SNORE 250, taking the sideline for Rage is the best option to look towards for the long haul…

I am hoping to be back for the 2026 race season, but there is a lot of work to be done between now and then. The race that I come back can be subject due to change, currently shopping for bottom ends and will keep providing updates with how the work is being done in the garage.

Again, not the option that I wanted to take, but it has to be done. My heart wants to be back on the track in Rage, but sometimes you have to plan long term instead of short term.

I want to thank the whole Kingman Offroad racing crew for all the help this year, it doesn’t go unnoticed. I want to thank my Dad and Stacy for being at every race and letting a kid have a blast in the desert.

Thanks to sponsors for 2025 this year for their support…

Sorry I haven’t gotten a post up yet for results due to being super busy the last few weeks but here it is!

The good and bad was definitely brought out from this race. We suffered a right front flat on lap 1 which made us lose some time but luckily it was close to the pits and the Kingman Offroad racing crew killed it to get us back going. Lap 2, we reeled into getting a 3rd place position within striking position to move up to 2nd going into the 3rd lap. Throughout the 3rd lap we started experiencing issues with the intake getting clogged from the silt throughout the course, causing it to lose power. Going into the last lap, we had 3rd place secured so we just had to finish. Unfortunately on the last lap the intake got clogged once again, we decided to stop to clean it out but ā€œrookie meā€ decided to turn the car off, but everything else was on causing the car battery to drainšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø. We were stuck on course until the course was cold to get retrieval. After the race, we got jumpstarted and started driving down the highway, but the car decided to overheat. Hard to say as of right now what damage was done to the motor. On paper we still got 3rd but didn’t cross the finish line unfortunately. By far a killer weekend, but wish we could’ve finished.

Massive thanks to my parents for helping wherever it’s needed. Thank you for the retrieval and getting us jumpstarted in the middle of nowhere, it’s very much appreciatedšŸ˜‚

ā€œIf it was easy, everyone would do it.ā€ See everyone in October.

Unfortunately we couldn’t keep the momentum alive this weekend and had a domino effect of issues with the car day 1.

We started off the line 4th place picking off cars and moved into 1st place physically halfway though lap 1 and that’s when things took a turn for the worst. The car started to begin to not shift properly and also go into gears it was not supposed to. With it being electronic paddle shifting, we were unsure if it was a mechanical or an electrical issue. As we progressed throughout the race I figured out that I couldn’t use gears below 3rd as it would drop down to 1st gear or perhaps even neutral. We would be occasionally be at a dead stop in neutral, having to turn the car off and turn it back on, then get going again throughout the entire race. As I figured out a way to try to preserve the car, we would climb back to 3rd place on the last lap hoping for a finish. We unfortunately dropped down to 1st gear in a tight corner and lost all movement of the vehicle. I had Dawson radio in that we had transmission issues as we went through the checklist of possible issues.

When we got back to the pits, we took the car apart right away and dug into the transmission and found that there was missing teeth in the 1st gear. Myself and Doug Chapin ran all the way back to town to grab a spare set of gears so we could hopefully get back up and running for day 2. When we made it back, we found that the shift shaft was damaged. We tried to make repairs but unfortunately broke again with not knowing what the cause of the damage could be from. We stayed up super late of trying to find ways to run day 2 but unfortunately we couldn’t get back on the track again.

It is a tough pill to swallow, but always have to keep the head held high and trust the process to keep moving forward. Hopefully next race is a different outcome than this one.

I would like to thank the Kingman Offroad racing crew for helping out yesterday, massive hats off to you guys. I would like to thank Jim Berry for helping out taking the car apart and helping me through the aches and pains of racing. I would like to thank Stacy Jane Berry for being supportive and understanding throughout the entire weekend along with helping wherever needed to be done. I want to also thank Stacey Pike for helping taking apart the car and staying up late as well even though he had a race the next day, it is truly appreciated.
