Things you CAN do at the Y:
1. Exercise in the fitness center seconds (or less) after someone else just used the equipment.
2. Stand beside a machine while someone else is using it
3. Use the same pool as anyone else from both the Stokes Y and also the Fulton Y
4. Play racquetball
5. play co-Ed volleyball
6. Take multiple aerobics classes with whomever else shows up.
7. Change in the locker rooms
8. Drop your kids off if they are out of school for child care (for an additional fee of course)
9. Watch your kids use the gyms that day.
10. Watch your kids play youth basketball.
11. Play basketball if you are 14 and under during youth weekly practices and weekly games.
12. Attended church
13. Volunteer for almost any program they have
14. Play horse, run basketball drills, shoot baskets with other people
Things you CAN NOT DO at the YMCA
1. Play morning basketball. For any reason. Even though the gyms are used nightly for youth basketball, on the weekends for games and for church services. They all make the Y extra money so that seems to make them safe enough to do but since we just pay membership fees we are unsafe.
2. Volunteer to help get the morning basketball games restarted.
3. End of list.
Sorry guys, I’ve been trying to get the Y to let us play again, but it seems they just don’t care. I know there are a lot of other gyms in the area that have been letting their members play ball for a while now, maybe it’s time to look into those if you want to play. I’ll keep everyone updated if I hear anything new. But from the canned responses I’ve been getting I wouldn’t count on anything changing anytime soon. Sorry for the bad news. Miss seeing everyone and yes, that even means Wayne.
