🦌 WEEK 1 RECAP — WHAT A START! 🦌

Our opening week is officially in the books, and what a way to kick off the 2026 Junior Antler season!

Our boys and girls stepped onto the field Saturday and left it all out there, showing effort, toughness, teamwork, and plenty of that classic Tivy football spirit. We are incredibly proud of what we saw from both teams and our cheerleaders as we officially began our journey toward the playoffs!

Today, we want to recognize some outstanding athletes from our opening week and give a HUGE thank you to the sponsors who help make these opportunities possible for our kids!

🏆 RGB RESOURCES — Teammates of the Week
JV: Isaac Brondo
Varsity: Sawyer Hollas

🏆 The Ridge Marketplacee Ridge Marketplace — Offensive Players of the Game
JV: Cameron Durst
Varsity: Josiah Sanchez

🏆 @ Cypress Roofing— Defensive Players of the Week
JV: Elliott Litz
Varsity: Ryan Batts

🏆 Ken Stoepel Ford — Trenches Players of the Week
JV: Connor Robataille
Varsity: Asa Keeler

Each of these athletes performed exceptionally well and represented themselves, their teammates, their families, and the Junior Antlers with pride. We are excited to recognize them for their hard work and effort as they continue into the season!

We also want to give a VERY special shoutout to Jon Jon Collier, who made a little bit of Junior Antler history on Saturday!

Jon Jon kicked the first JV extra point in Junior Antler Athletics history! He went 2-for-3 on extra points and also added a perfectly executed pooch kick that was recovered by his teammates!

That's a pretty cool piece of Junior Antler history! 🦌

To all of our athletes: keep working, keep encouraging one another, and keep finding ways to get better. Week 1 is just the beginning!

And to our incredible sponsors—thank you for investing in these young men and women and helping us continue to build something special in our community.

Once an Antler, Always an Antler! 🦌💙🏈📣

🦌 SCRIMMAGE WEEKEND IN THE BOOKS! 🦌

Our Junior Antler JV and Varsity teams had the opportunity to get out and face some real competition this past weekend in Boerne, and our kids showed up ready to compete!

There were definitely some opening jitters, but the boys quickly settled in and continued to progress in a positive direction throughout the day. We learned some things about ourselves, found areas we need to improve, and, most importantly, accomplished a lot of things we can be proud of.

We saw:

💪 Great effort from start to finish
🔥 Kids willing to stand their ground and take on every challenge
🧠 Positive attitudes when things didn't go their way
🤝 Teammates picking each other up
👏 Players celebrating each other's successes
🦌 A growing understanding of what it means to play as a team

That's what we are looking for at this point in the season. It's not about being perfect—it's about learning, competing, responding to adversity, and getting better together.

Our coaches were extremely proud of what they saw from both teams and are excited to get back to work, attack the things we need to clean up, and continue building toward Week 1!

And now... it's GAME WEEK!

This Saturday, our Junior Antlers will host our first games of the season at Hal Peterson Middle School!

Come out, bring your family, bring your friends, and help us fill the stands as our football players and cheerleaders take the field!

Let's show these kids what their community is all about!

Once an Antler, Always an Antler! 🦌💙🏈📣

📚🦌 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! 🦌📚

Junior Antlers, today is the start of a brand-new school year, and we want to wish ALL of our young men and women the very best of luck!

We hope you walk through those school doors with confidence, enthusiasm, and a willingness to attack every challenge that comes your way. Make good choices, work hard, be kind, encourage your classmates, listen to your teachers, and remember that the decisions you make every day are helping shape the person you are becoming.

Just like football and cheer, success in school doesn't happen by accident. It takes preparation, discipline, effort, and the willingness to keep pushing when things get tough.

We also hope our End-of-Summer/Season Kickoff Party was a great way to wrap up a summer filled with hard work and officially kick off the challenges and excitement ahead! From workouts and practices to community service and time spent together, these kids have already put in a tremendous amount of work.

Now it's time to carry that same energy into the classroom!

Parents, coaches, and teammates—we're all cheering you on. Go attack this school year, Junior Antlers! Make good choices, chase improvement, and make someone else's day a little better along the way.

We are proud of you already and can't wait to see what this year brings!

Have a GREAT first day of school!

Once an Antler, Always an Antler! 🦌💙🏈📣

At Junior Antler Athletics, we love seeing our young men and women step outside their comfort zones, chase big dreams, and discover just how far their hard work can take them.

Today, we would like to recognize one of our outstanding athletes, Benny Ledesma!

Benny is entering his second season with the Junior Antlers and has become an exceptional teammate, competitor, and leader. His work ethic and willingness to challenge himself are second to none.

Yesterday, Benny competed at the Youth State Track Meet, where he set personal records in both the 800-meter and 1,600-meter races. He finished an impressive 10th in the state in the 800 meters and 13th in the state in the 1,600 meters—an incredible accomplishment that reflects the countless hours of dedication he has put into his training.

As if that wasn't enough, Benny has now earned the opportunity to represent himself, his family, and our community, at the Junior Olympics in Iowa, where he will compete in the 3,000-meter run!

Benny, we couldn't be more proud of you. Thank you for representing yourself, your family, your community, and Junior Antler Athletics with humility, determination, and class. Your commitment to improving both on and off the field is exactly what our program is all about.

Please join us in congratulating Benny on his outstanding accomplishments and wishing him the very best as he heads to Iowa to compete at the Junior Olympics!

Good luck, Benny! We'll all be cheering for you and can't wait to have you back with the team. Once an Antler, Always an Antler! 💙🏈🏃

What an incredible way to kick off League Conditioning Week!

Our Junior Antler boys and girls have brought outstanding energy, effort, and attitudes from day one. Seeing returning athletes back in helmets alongside so many first-time players has been exciting. Every practice has been filled with smiles, learning, and kids eager to get better together.

Our cheerleaders have also hit the ground running! They have been loud, proud, and full of positive energy as they begin mastering new routines, getting in sync as a team, and bringing excitement to every practice. Their enthusiasm has been contagious, and we can't wait to see them shine this season!

Monday also gave us the incredible opportunity to serve our community by partnering with Light on the Hill during their Mega Food Drive. Our athletes showed up at 7:00 AM ready to work. They helped set up, hand out food, load vehicles, and, most importantly, shared countless smiles, laughs, and encouraging conversations with members of our community. We couldn't be more proud of the way these young men and women represented Junior Antler Athletics, their families, and Kerrville.

This is what our program is all about—building character, serving others, growing in faith, and developing as teammates both on and off the field.

We are just getting started, and the excitement for this season continues to grow. Thank you to all of our athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and community members who continue to make this program so special.

Once an Antler, Always an Antler! 💙🏈📣
