Just a quick update on our Brown Bess kit project. Thankfully, the design process is just about done. This has been quite an undertaking. I think I could have built a complete actual gun from raw materials in less time. Some think that what I show is just some stupid AI created image or something, but it is far from that. What shown are actual, digital models that desicribe every shape to the thousandths of an inch. These are required for modern manufacturing techniques. I'll attach a view without the stock, that might be interesting. As far as availability, I can't be sure yet. Sometime next year. Hopefully in the first half of the year. This is a really big and complicated project. Any questions, just ask. Thanks!

I'm sure many of you have heard about our upcoming pistol kit. Well, here's an update... I'd mentioned on our last live stream that the grip wasn't right and needed re-designed. We have gotten that completed as well as an adjustment for the guard. Most of the parts are programmed as well. The big hold up for release will be the guard mold for investment casting. We make these molds from masters and we expect a 3d metal printed master to come today. So hopefully the mold will be made in a week or so and then we need to send wax samples to the foundry. They will take around 6 weeks to get these poured. Then we can start working out all the final details and adjustments. The pistol will come with our Ketland lock, be avialble in .45, .50 and .54 calibers. It has a 10.5" swamped barrel and will be availble in all the typical wood choices. As far as design goes, these follow the general form of some pistols produced by Sheets in the valley of Virginia. The grip is a little unique in that it has facets rather than fully curved surfaces. You see this on some English pistols of the period and this was obviously an influence to the work done here. A handful of other period pistols have similar stock shaping. These will be available with or without inlays, and I might offer a different sideplate option of shaped escutcheons rather than a full sideplate. Any questions, just ask!

This is an original longr***e that I believe showed up not too many years ago. I'v been taken by it and think it's pretty special. Where it was made is not readily apparent. Any thoughts based on details you see? What do you think about the condition? Does this do anything for you?

A Germanic lock I worked on designing quite a while ago. I haven't looked at it for a while and see some things I'd like to adjust, but I'm looking forward to starting to make this. Maybe sometime next year...

Our new Woodsrunner r***e kits with relief carving. A walnut and maple stock. Note the huge difference shading and slight patina makes to the overall appeal. I wouln't think of carving without adding this.
