WOOD BAT FALL BALL LEAGUE

We will be offering a Team Division and Draft Division

Both will be strict bowling motion, following the rules in USA Softball Modified Rule 6B section 3 and articles defining 10 man.
Illegal Pitches will be a ball on the batter and a base for any runners on.

Adds will be voted on for both divisions by the Executive Board for the Fall Ball League.

ALL WOOD bats (including bamboo) with a legible ASA/USA stamp. The bat cannot contain any metal/composite component. The following three corndog bats are approved as an exception: the orange and white Demarini corndog, the blue and white Demarini corndog, and the green and white Demarini corndog. The bat must be 2 ¼ inches in diameter. All bats must be approved and stickered by the league before they can be used in-game.

Helmets are required

8 game season w/ double elimination playoffs (9/3-10/12)

5 weeks of regular season and one week for playoffs

Games will be on Monday and Thursday, with Wednesday as needed for holidays or makeups

To be eligible to participate in playoff games, players must have played in a minimum of 50% of their team’s regular season games played since the first time they were added to the roster

Players can play in both the team division and draft division, there are no crossover player limits

Team Division:

$1,200 per team (No player fees)

Non-registered teams need to register with USA Softball ($50 in addition to the $1,200)

9 man fielding, Bat 9 or 10

Draft Division:

$85 per player

10 man fielding, Bat up to 12 for regular season, playoffs will be the normal 9 or 10 batters.

$85 per add (waiver system)

Draft will be held to determine teams

Pitchers and Catchers will be entered and drafted together.

If anyone is interested in being a team captain, please reach out! Captains will be on the roster.

All other rules, please refer to the GKMSA By Laws, Constitution or Code of Conduct. Anything else, please follow the USA Softball Rule Book.

2025 CANAAN MEN'S MODIFIED TOURNEY AUGUST 1-3

Here is the updated bracket! We are keeping full games and in order to do this, we are updating a few rules for tomorrow:

Tournament Update as of 2pm on Friday

The 6:30 game, Brew Crew vs. Elm City Elite, is moving to 8pm at O'Neal. The rain is expected to stop at about 7/8pm. We will then take the tarps off the field and do a little field work, and we hope to play ball! Saturday is on as regularly scheduled as of right now! Thank you all!

Tournament weather update! As of now, the tournament is going on as scheduled. We will put tarps on the fields tonight to protect the fields from puddling up as much as possible tomorrow. We have backup plans if certain days or times get rained out, but we still expect to get the tournament in this weekend. Please keep an eye out on this page for further updates. Hey everyone!

With the tournament a few days away, here are some reminders for the tournament:

Make sure your team is registered with USA Softball

Please fill out and have everyone sign the roster before your first game, no additions to your roster after they have been submitted. Please turn in the roster to the tournament rep at the field near the snack shack. The snack shack is behind home plate at Durling Field. You will also need to get your bats compression tested and stickered at this area as well before your first game. If your first game is at Brown, there will be someone to do it there as well.

Please make sure everyone reads over the rules before the first game.

No grills are allowed at either of the fields per the city. The snack shack will be fully stocked with food at Wheelock Park and then there will be a food truck at Brown Field on Saturday.
