A huge THANK YOU to Kearney High seniors Ty Buescher and Levi Pohfal, along with UNK students and former KJFL players Brady Tripe, Hunter Freeze, Maddox Miles, and Cayden John, for giving back to the game and our community!

Brady, Cayden and Maddox all played for Kearney High and Hunter played for Amherst. At UNK, all four are Industrial Distribution majors.

This season, the KJFL football program was lucky to have 3 more incredible young men — Cole Larson and Tyler Grauerholz, seniors from Kearney High School and freshman Barrett Aschwege— step up as coaches and mentors for our players.

Their leadership, dedication, and genuine care for the kids made a huge impact both on and off the field. Cole, Tyler, and Barrett brought energy, patience, and passion to every practice and game, helping our athletes grow not only as football players but as teammates and individuals.

It’s inspiring to see high school students give back to the community in such a meaningful way. The lessons and example they’ve set will stick with our young players for years to come.

Thank you, fellas, for an amazing season — your hard work and heart truly made a difference!

We’re proud to shine the spotlight on two outstanding Kearney High School seniors — Zach Wulf and Syler Steffen — for their incredible leadership both on and off the field.

These Bearcat football players have generously volunteered their time to work with our Kearney Junior Football League (KJFL) athletes, sharing their skills, energy, and passion for the game. Whether it’s helping run drills, giving encouragement, or simply being there as positive role models, Zach and Syler have made a lasting impression on the next generation of Kearney football players.

Zach Wulf will be continuing his football journey at UNK, where he plans to study Construction Management while playing at the collegiate level.

Syler Steffen is headed to UNL to pursue a future in Dentistry, showing that leadership and dedication extend far beyond the gridiron.

Both young men embody the spirit of servant leadership and are perfect examples of what it means to be a Bearcat — committed, driven, and always giving back. Our KJFL players look up to them not just for their athletic talents, but for the character they show every day.

Thank you, Zach and Syler, for inspiring the youth of Kearney. The future is brighter because of leaders like you! 💙🐾
