Our first Wildling Learning Collective trial day was such a beautiful success!

We loved welcoming families into our space, watching everyone engage with the rhythm of the day, and getting to meet the people who are drawn to this kind of learning, connection, and childhood.

And now, we’re opening our Intention Forms again for the 2026 Wildling Learning Collective.

If your family wasn’t able to make it to a trial day but you’re still interested in joining us, we would love to hear from you. We have 10 spaces available in each program, and we’ll be thoughtfully reviewing intentions to find the families who feel like the best fit for our programs, values, and vision.

Please submit your Intention Form by August 24th. We’ll be reaching out to families with enrollment information on August 25th, or sooner.

We’re so excited to continue building this little Wildling community and to find the families who will journey alongside us this year!

Come join us for a morning of fire, tools, making, and a little bit of outdoor magic ✨ 🔥

There's something special about engaging in survival skills together as a family. Kids get to get their hands dirty, work with real materials and try something a little challenging, and find out they're capable of more than they thought.

We'll spend the morning learning the basics of fire starting with ferro rods, with a table full of yummy treats to cook over the fire!

For kids around 5/6 and up who are ready for a bit more of a challenge, we'll also have everything on hand for making wooden spoons with carving and cold burning techniques. This one's a parent and child activity that calls for some dexterity, patience, and careful guidance, so you'll be right there learning and creating alongside them.

A morning outside, around the fire, making things with our hands and giving our kids the kind of experiences childhood is made for.

We’ve been busy getting our space ready, and we cannot wait to welcome families through the doors tomorrow.

We’ve transformed our Atelier for the day to give families a little glimpse into what we’re building here at Wildling & Wonder, and what learning can look like when we step outside of the traditional classroom.

We’re creating an environment where children have room to move, wonder, experiment and discover, and where families can begin to imagine what alternative education could look like for their own children.

Tomorrow is just a little taste of that vision, and we are SO excited to open the doors, welcome families in, and share this space with you.

At our Wild Craft Camp this summer, we explored nature through a different lens: through the impressions it can leave behind.

We made cyanotype prints using sunlight, experimented with flower pounding, tried nature printing, and made our own paper by hand.

What struck us most, though, wasn't what the children made. It was how they moved through the space.

Some spent hours in the atelier, completely absorbed in creating, music playing quietly in the background as they refined an idea over and over again. Others wandered between climbing trees, building forts, chatting with friends, and returning to create when inspiration struck.

Watching children follow their own curiosity, moving naturally between stillness and movement, solitude and community, was a beautiful reminder that learning doesn't need to be rushed or directed to be deeply meaningful.

This is the kind of space we set out to create. One where children's instincts are trusted. Where wonder is protected. Where creativity is given the time and freedom to unfold.

Grateful doesn't quite cover it.

Join us for a morning in the forest where creativity, nature and community come together.

Each family will receive a handmade fabric fairy doll to customize and take home. Parents and older children are invited to enjoy creating together, while younger siblings explore our blocks, dress up area, small world play and outdoor spaces.

Our mud kitchen will be stocked with sparkly fairy potions and imaginative ingredients, and families will also have the chance to help add to our growing fairy village using natural materials. You can create alongside your children or simply enjoy watching their ideas come to life.

Our childhood friend will be joining us with her coffee cart, Simplicities Coffee Co, serving flavored lattes for purchase and Jameson will be baking homemade scones with jam and cream for everyone to enjoy.

We're looking forward to welcoming just ten families for a memorable morning of creativity, connection and play in nature.

$25/family (up to 3 members that are ages 3+, babies and toddlers under 3 are free) · $3 per additional member.

August is a building month at Wildling & Wonder.

While we're busy working on the barn, we're also preparing for a new season of learning and connection. If you've been curious about what we do, August is the perfect time to visit.

Wildling Learning Collective

Our drop-off program for ages 6–12 explores the world through storytelling, making, creative expression, and nature-based learning. We believe living is learning, and our multi-age, project-based, child-led approach is built around the kinds of experiences that research consistently shows help children thrive.

Trial Days August 8 & August 24 | 2:00–4:00 PM $25 per family

Whether you're already enrolled for fall, still deciding, or simply curious, these afternoons are a chance to experience what we're building.

Children will gather around the fire for storytelling, enjoy a taste of South African cooking inspired by our fall theme, make their own primitive bow with Jameson and Courtney, and finish the afternoon exploring our outdoor spaces through free play with a trusted guide.

While the children are outside, parents will meet in the barn to explore our philosophy, emergent curriculum, and vision for the year ahead.

Family Programming

Our Family Programming creates space for movement for mothers, genuine community for families, and rich play environments where children ages 12 and under build confidence, skills, and capacity together.

Our family events are a relaxed way to experience Wildling & Wonder before committing to one of our larger programs.

Week 2 of Wild Play Camp ran alongside our Wild Craft camp week and brought some hands-on making into the mix, along with plenty of good old fashioned outdoor fun!

We introduced projects that let the little ones build and create with real materials and balanced that with movement. An obstacle course had kids climbing and crawling all over the yard, and parachute play turned into one big burst of group joy.

Thank you to every family who joined us this week. It was really special watching this group dive into something new while growing and going deeper into their play and their relationships with each other.

Reminder: sign ups for our Family Trial Days and Wild Play Studio (August 11th and 22nd) open later this week! We would love to see you there.

The Wildling Learning Collective is a secular, project based program immersed in nature.

We follow clear, research backed evidence that children learn best through movement and hands on experience. That's the foundation of how we teach, and it's why ecology, hands on making, and engaging directly with early human history sit alongside food, culture, and story.

This fall, we're exploring cultures through storytelling, myth, and folktale. Wednesdays go deep into story and language arts. Mondays take us outside into ecology, hands on projects, and early human history, both starting in Africa.

Before our first term begins, we're hosting trial days to allow for us all to meet and see if our program would be a good fit. Come join us August 8th or 24th from 2:00 to 4:30, where we will start around the fire with storytelling and a hands on project. We will then move kids into free play in our outdoor spaces with a trusted adult, while parents come inside for a look at our planned projects, our values, and the curriculum we've built for our fall term.

We're keeping this first year small, with 10 spots available, so we can give this group of kids the best education possible in our building phase.

*Families who join us for a trial day will get priority for those spots as we will have a better feel for overall fit. If you can't make it but want your family considered, reach out and we'll find another time to connect.
