Harambe FC of Kansas City Harambe F.C. (Ha-Ram-Bay Futbol Club) was established in 2008. The name "Harambe" is a Swahili word meaning "pulling together for a common goal".

Our main goal is to help bring the Kansas City Metro and Surrounding communities together through soccer by organizing a youth soccer club. "FC" stands for "Futbol Club" which is the international name for a soccer organization. Harambe Futbol Club was founded by a group of former Park University players. Though the club is mainly comprised of Park University Alumni, it is open to any coaches who

share the same philosophy of coaching and mentoring. Our Philosophy

Develop and promote the growth of and an appreciation for the game of soccer by providing opportunities for the youth of the KC Metro and surrounding areas to participate in organized programs of soccer by instilling the following values:

Club: Create a club atmosphere that encompasses high quality soccer with the "Harambe Way" Coaching Method, family values, community involvement and player development. Player Development: Players are developed to their fullest potential through educational curriculum, hard work, commitment, fun and teamwork. Fair Play: Players, coaches and parents will be required to demonstrate Fair Play in every game and every practice. Behavior contrary to Fair Play will not be tolerated. Parental Responsibilities: Parents will support their players and coaches. Parents will bring concerns to the coach directly - negative and destructive comments about players or coaches will not be tolerated. Parents will ensure that players arrive to practices and games consistently and on-time. Parents will not coach from the sidelines. Diversity: Every players and their family shall have an equal opportunity to participate on Harambe FC teams regardless of economic status, race, creed, color or national or ethnic origin.

Changes for next year - New Club!!!

For several months, Harambe has spoken with other clubs in regard to merging. We couldn't quite find the “right fit”. Now we have…although not in the form of a merge but of a brand new club……..

On May 5th a new soccer club was announced…..Alliance FC!!!!!! Many of you may know Alliance’s founders, Todd Logan, Geoff Stapleton, Brian Budzinski and Mark Ferguson. The corporate office is in NKC. Mary Anne Denny will be the Business Manager.

Alliance will start with at least 35 teams. We already have coaches who have committed from, not only Harambe, but from 3 other clubs as well.

Harambe FC founders had a dream of providing a quality soccer experience where kids learned and grew in a friendly environment as soccer players and people! Harambe has met those goals over the years providing many kids with an awesome soccer experience! Many kids have gone on to play college soccer, and several teams have had many state cup and tournament wins! More importantly, kids have learned and had a great time!

Harambe’s commitment to excellent training/coaching as well as a safe and fun soccer experience will carry on in Alliance FC!
