Took some much needed time off from racing. Needed a refocus. Was hoping to be able to go the Mudboss Shootout this weekend but alas life happened. I've made a commitment to myself to go out at least twice a month and race.

Oval sprint drivers, check out the RC Dirt oval speed lab page and their setup book. I've been reading it slowly trying to soak it on. Its been great information.

Came out for the Lone Star Dirt Oval Series finals at Thompson R/C Raceway. Running on ProMotion t1 havoc and corsair. Car has felt good all night. Starting 1st in the b main. Had a suggested wing change, tried it during some practice and it felt great. Can't wait to make the A main.

I've been in RC since 2017. Coming from miniature gaming (Warhammer),I thought I found a hobby without any drama. Man was I wrong. On track drama, kind of expect. But drama between tracks, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWIE! There's a whole other level of my s**t don't stink. Trust me, coming from a lot of things in my life, if you have to talk s**t about someone else, you are probably the one not doing that well. I love it when the local RTR track talks s**t to the fastest track in the area.

I signed up for the 13.5 Sprint at Mudboss Shootout. I would have done the RCCB but I felt like saving some days off of work to spend with my family would be better. Thinking I might also convert my SR10M over to a late model for that race. Not 100% sure.

This weekend I will be going to Thompson R/C Raceway to hang out and play some off road.

Been an interesting day here at Rockwall County Rc running their opening race. Rusty has done a great job of filling a gap after Indy closed down. 36 cars for the mains. I call that a win.

I see a lot of posts in groups about people buying used cars, especially 8th scale off road stuff. Don't get me wrong, that's not a TERRIBLE way to start off in the hobby. HOWEVER, I really don't think its the best. After racing for a while, doing multiple disciplines, I really am back on board with telling people to just get the ole 2wd Slash car.

Most places will have a SCT class they can throw you in. For oval its easy enough to convert over to a mudboss. This gets you into racing for around 300ish, NOT including batteries and charger (struggling with memory here). Sometimes you can get a charger deal with Traxxas (buy from your local track or shop!). If you like the hobby and want to continue racing THEN you can spend money.

Things to NOT skimp on, your charger and your radio. You can KINDA skimp on batteries, but your charger, but once cry once. For radio, spend as much money as you can REASONABLY afford. I say that because there are decent radios out there for sub 200, but really you should be prepared to spend AT LEAST 250ish (Noble NB4) to as deep as your pockets can go (Futaba 10PX). If you can find a used 4px or 7px AWESOME but don't skimp on the radio.

Charger, just get an iCharger. If you are doing only one battery class X6, if you are doing more than 1 dX6 will be great. You need an external power supply, which doesn't really matter which one you get, just buy the most power you can afford. After that TIRES TIRES TIRES TIRES!

One of the staples in our tire lineup is the MIG. Designed to last! This tire is the longest wearing tread in our arsenal, and is sure to outlast the competition.

The MIG was designed for long main events and high abrasion, high wear situations. Featuring tightly placed pins in groups of four. The pin size increases as you go from the outside of the tire to the center, this still helps to provide a “nimble” and fast tire that can hold up to almost any condition!
Advanced carcass design
Pin sizes increase for responsive steering and superior wear resistance
Longest lasting tire in the Pro Motion lineup
Includes Advanced Cell inserts
