🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ KNIGHTS CROSSING XC — CROCKETT MAKES SOME NOISE!
What a day for the David Crockett Pioneers at the Knights Crossing Cross Country Meet! Our athletes competed against a loaded field and came home with a school record, a medal, and a pile of new personal bests!

🔥 ISAAC RICE — NEW CROCKETT 5K RECORD!
Isaac delivered a huge performance, running 16:14.0 and officially breaking the David Crockett 5K school record! He went through the first mile in 5:06.7 and kept battling all the way to the line. A massive accomplishment and another big step forward for Isaac.

🏅 SAVANNAH PIAZZA — 19:15.8 PR & MEDALIST!
Savannah turned in an outstanding race of her own, setting a new personal best of 19:15.8 and earning a medal. Even more impressive, Savannah was the only Tennessee girl to medal at the meet! She closed hard over the final portion of the course to finish off a special performance.

And those weren't the only breakthroughs. PRs were falling all over the course!

🏆 STRONG DAY FOR THE PIONEERS! 🏆

The David Crockett Cross Country teams showed up in a BIG way today at the Mark Jennings XC Invitational, with our girls bringing home the TEAM WIN and our boys finishing RUNNER-UP! The meet was hosted right here at David Crockett.

🥇 GIRLS — 1ST PLACE TEAM FINISH

The Lady Pioneers absolutely controlled the front of the race, putting THREE runners in the top three overall and FIVE in the top six!

🏃 PIONEER XC — MEET PERFORMANCE REPORT 🖤💛

Last night tested us in more ways than just racing.

Heavy lightning and rain delays made for an extremely long night. When we finally got the opportunity to compete, we were dealing with a soaked course, mud, standing water, and puddles throughout.
Those aren't conditions where you worry about everything being perfect. Those are conditions where you find out who is willing to compete.

And our Pioneers competed.

I loved the effort, toughness, and attitude I saw from our athletes. They stayed ready through the delays, stepped to the starting line, and gave us everything they had.
Were we perfect? No. We have plenty to improve on — and that's exactly where we should be this early in the season.

Every race gives us information. Now we go back to work, build on what we did well, attack the areas where we need improvement, and keep getting stronger.
One meet doesn't define our season. It's just the beginning.

I'm proud of the effort, excited about the potential of this group, and looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish as the season progresses.

Great job, Pioneers. Now it's back to work. 🖤💛

📸 Media Day ✔️

The cameras are put away, the uniforms are ready, and now it's time to get to work.

Our David Crockett Cross Country team officially wrapped up Media Day, and we're excited to kick off the 2026 season! The miles have been logged, the commitment has been made, and this team is ready to compete.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our program. We can't wait to represent our school and community this season.

🏃‍♂️ Pioneer XC Invitational – Registration is OPEN! 🏃‍♀️

We’re excited to invite elementary, middle school, and high school runners to the Pioneer XC Invitational on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at David Crockett High School!

This event is for ALL kids elementary age and up — whether your child runs on a cross country team, another sport, or just loves to run for fun. No team affiliation required!

✅ Great introduction to cross country
✅ Fun, supportive environment
✅ Challenge yourself and compete
✅ Open to beginners and experienced runners alike

Whether your child is chasing a PR or just wants to experience race day, we’d love to have them out!
