KAMBOI EAGLES PLAYERS GET U20 NATIONAL TEAM CALL-UP

The Secretariat of Kamboi Eagles Football Club Kenema is pleased to inform all Executive Members and supporters that four (4) of its players have been invited by the Technical Team of the Sierra Leone U-20 National Team - Shooting Stars to join their colleagues for training which commences on Monday, 31st August 2026

The Four (4) Players Selected Are:

1. Abubakarr Bangura - Goalkeeper
2. Sheku Samba - Defender
3. Mohamed Lamin Musa - Midfielder
4. Abubakarr Sidibay - Attacker

This national call-up of four players at a go is happening for the first time in the recent history of the club. This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of the Technical Team, Management, and supporters under the leadership of Alhaji Idriss Kamara as the club Executive Chairman.

The Management hereby wishes the players the very best during the trials. We have no doubt they will make the final selected plyers who will be representing Sierra Leone.

With due respect, the attempt to portray Kamboi Eagles as a club interested only in naming ceremonies, marriages and board appointments is a misleading and unfair narrative that ignores the realities and progress of the club.

Football development is not measured only by pre-season fixtures or headline signings. It is also about financial stability, player welfare, responsible administration, commitment and building a sustainable institution.

Under Executive Chairman Alhaji Idris Kamara, Kamboi Eagles completed the 2025/26 season in 7th position, remained competitive, honoured its fixtures and, importantly, continued to meet its responsibilities to the players. These are not achievements to be dismissed simply because the club has not yet lifted the Premier League trophy.

Chairman Idris Kamara deserves credit for stepping forward at a time when football administration requires more than words. His commitment, personal sacrifice and determination to keep the Eagles moving deserve recognition.

Yes, Kamboi Eagles must improve. Yes, the club must continue strengthening the squad, preparing adequately and pursuing trophies. Nobody should be afraid to demand greater ambition.

But demanding progress is different from deliberately discrediting progress already made.

To suggest that the Eagles are preparing for relegation simply because people are celebrating family, institutional and administrative milestones is an unnecessary attempt to create negativity around a club that is working to build itself.

We welcome constructive criticism, but we reject narratives designed to undermine genuine commitment.

The Premier League trophy remains the ultimate ambition. The journey will require investment, planning, patience, recruitment and collective commitment. And under Chairman Idris Kamara, the determination to pursue that vision remains clear.

At the helm of Kamboi Eagles FC, Executive Chairman Alhaji Idris Kamara has demonstrated that leadership is not measured by speeches, but by results, responsibility and action.

Under his leadership, Kamboi Eagles completed the 2025/26 Leone Rock Premier League season in 7th position, while making significant strides in the way the club is managed and supported.

One of the most noticeable changes has been the attention given to players’ welfare. Salaries have been paid without the prolonged delays that have often affected football clubs, while the overall welfare of players has received greater attention.

The club has also begun moving away from relying heavily on loan deals to securing permanent signings, an important step toward building a more stable and competitive squad.

Beyond the pitch, Chairman Idris Kamara has placed emphasis on trust, accountability and responsible leadership. His commitment extends beyond the football club, with a strong desire to give back to Kenema, the community the Eagles proudly represent.

The Management, Technical Team, Players and the entire Kamboi Eagles Football Club family today joined relatives, friends and sympathizers to pay their final respects to the late Mrs. Angela Gladys Sia Vandi, beloved wife of the club's Technical Director, Elogima Christian Vandi, during her funeral service in Kenema.

Mrs. Angela Gladys Sia Vandi passed away on 3rd July 2026 and is being laid to rest today, 18th July 2026, following a funeral service at Door International Church, Kenema. She will later be interred at Sembehun Cemetery.

To our respected Technical Director, Elogima Christian Vandi, we share in your grief during this incredibly difficult time. No words can truly ease the pain of losing a beloved wife and companion, but please know that the entire Kamboi Eagles family stands firmly with you. Your pain is our pain, and your sorrow is shared by everyone associated with this great club.

We pray that Almighty God grants the late Mrs. Angela Gladys Sia Vandi eternal rest and gives her husband, children, family and loved ones the strength, comfort and courage to bear this painful and irreplaceable loss.
