GET TO KNOW OUR GIRLS ASSISTANT COACH!

When we launched the DEFC Girls Program in 2024, we had just three girls show up to tryouts.

We pieced together enough players to form a youth team and somehow managed to put together a high school-age team as well, often relying on guest players just to have enough for a roster.

That first year wasn't easy. There was plenty of learning, plenty of challenges, and not very many wins.

It would have been easy to look at where the program was then and question whether it could become something bigger.

Coach Katelyn saw something different.

She believed in the vision. She believed in our players. And in the Fall of 2025, she joined DEFC and became an important part of building what our girls program is today.

By the 2025–26 season, DEFC had grown to four girls teams.

Our U10 and U11 girls went on to become back-to-back Division Champions, earn their first and second tournament championships, and reach another tournament final.

The growth of our Girls Program has been incredible, but success like this doesn't happen by accident.

Coach Katelyn has poured her time, energy, knowledge, and belief into these players and this program.

Simply put, the DEFC Girls Program would not be where it is today without Coach Katelyn.

Thank you, Coach Katelyn, for believing in the vision before the results were there and for helping turn that vision into something special.
