Aidan Toler Leads Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils Past Columbus East Varsity Olympians

Aidan Toler struck out 12 batters as the left-handed pitcher led Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils past Columbus East Varsity Olympians 2-1 on Wednesday. Toler surrendered five hits and one run over seven innings while walking three.

Both teams were strong on the bump. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils pitchers struck out 12, while Columbus East Varsity Olympians sat down five.

Columbus East Varsity Olympians got on the board in the first inning after Reid Koester singled, scoring one run.

Columbus East Varsity Olympians committed an error, which helped Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils tie the game at one in the top of the second.

Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils took the lead in the top of the sixth. AJ Seifert singled, scoring one run, to give Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils the leg up, 2-1.

Ryker Stott stepped on the mound first for Columbus East Varsity Olympians. The starter allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking five.

Seifert went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Seifert and Derrick Haynes each collected one hit for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Evan Shelton and Preston Hart led the team with two free passes each. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Haynes made the most plays with 12.

Cash Waters didn't allow a single run as defeated Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders 4-0 on Monday. Waters allowed just four hits.

Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils got on the board in the top of the seventh inning after Derrick Haynes singled, scoring two runs, Preston Hart hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Grant Smith singled, scoring one run.

Macon Simpson began the game for Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders. The starter allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking six.

Haynes provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Leadoff hitter Carter Durbin led Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils with two hits in three at bats. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils had patience at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Eli Harris, Aidan Toler, and Haynes led the team with two free passes each. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils turned one double play in the game.

Leadoff hitter Luke Jacobi led Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders with two hits in three at bats. Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders turned one double play in the game.

Preston Hart Drives In 5 To Lead Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils Past Castle Knights Varsity

Preston Hart drove in five runs on four hits to lead Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils past Castle Knights Varsity 10-9 on Saturday. Hart hit a home run to center field in the tenth scoring three, doubled in the third scoring one, and doubled in the fifth scoring one.

Castle Knights Varsity were the first to get on the board in the first when Logan Drake hit a solo home run to right field.

In the top of the third inning, Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils went back into the lead after Carter Durbin singled to center field, Aidan Toler doubled down the right field line, Derrick Haynes singled down the left field line, and Hart doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Castle Knights Varsity tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a single by Drake, a single by Jace Watson, and a sacrifice fly by Liam Harris.

Castle Knights Varsity took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Landon Eveland doubled, scoring one run, to give Castle Knights Varsity the edge, 5-4.

Hart doubled to right field on the ninth pitch of the at-bat, which helped Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils tie the game at five in the top of the fifth.

In the bottom of the fifth, Castle Knights Varsity broke up the tie when Hart induced Preston Seidl to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Then a ground out by Rylan Wagner followed to extend the lead to 7-5.

Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils tied the game in the top of the seventh thanks to a single by Haynes, and a ground out by Grant Smith.

A home run to center field by Hart gave Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils the lead, 10-7, in the top of the tenth.

Hart earned the win for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The hurler allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five and walking three. Meece took the loss for Castle Knights Varsity. The pitcher went one inning, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out none and walking two. Tripp Reuter began the game for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none. Grant Rhinefort began the game for Castle Knights Varsity. The starter gave up eight hits and five runs over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. Brayden Bachman collected the save. KJ Westbay appeared in relief for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils.

Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils tallied 14 hits in the game. Eli Harris, Toler, and Haynes each collected multiple hits for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Harris had the most chances in the field with 13.

Castle Knights Varsity tallied nine hits in the game. Drake went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Eveland collected two hits for Castle Knights Varsity in five at bats.

Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils won big over Brownstown Central Varsity Braves 10-0 on Friday.

Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Brownstown Central Varsity Braves committed an error, Derrick Haynes doubled to center field, and Grant Smith singled to center field, each scoring one run.

A double by Aidan Toler, a single by Haynes, and a double by Preston Hart helped Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils extend their early lead in the second.

Eli Harris homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third for the Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils.

Toler earned the win for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The lefty surrendered four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Brody Short took the loss for Brownstown Central Varsity Braves. The starter went one inning, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking three.
