The Work Behind the Game
September is where the season starts to take shape.
The excitement of tryouts, new teammates, new uniforms, and the first few practices starts to settle in. Now the real work begins.
Softball doesn't get better because you want to get better. It gets better because you decide to work for it.
Every throw matters.
Every swing matters.
Every ground ball matters.
Every sprint matters.
Every rep when nobody is watching matters.
Good Isn't the Goal
There are three choices we can make with almost anything in life:
We can be bad at it.
We can be average at it.
Or we can become good at it.
But why stop there?
If God has given you an ability, a passion, and an opportunity, why not see how far you can take it?
Excellence doesn't mean being perfect. It means giving your best effort, holding yourself accountable, and refusing to become comfortable with average.
September's Challenge: Be Different
This month, we challenge everyone to focus on three things:
🔥 INTENSITY
Don't just go through the drill. Attack it.
🎯 FOCUS
Be present. Listen. Learn. Make every rep count.
💙 COMMITMENT
Do the work even when you don't feel like doing it.
The players who separate themselves aren't always the ones with the most natural ability.
They're the ones who keep showing up.
Parents — This Matters Too
One of the greatest things we can teach our daughters through softball has nothing to do with a batting average.
It's teaching them what happens when they don't quit.
There will be bad games.
There will be strikeouts.
There will be errors.
There will be days they don't feel confident.
That's part of it.
Our job isn't to make the road easy.
Our job is to help them learn how to keep walking when the road gets hard.
Because it's much harder to quit than it is to persevere.
The Standard:
We're going to continue challenging our girls to raise their standard.
Not just for softball.
For themselves.
We want them to leave this program knowing that when they commit to something, they can work through adversity, trust the process, and accomplish things they once thought were impossible.
September isn't about being perfect.
It's about getting 1% better every day.
So let's work.
Let's compete.
Let's encourage each other.
