Why Matt Hamill?

Matt “The Hammer” Hamill is a 3-time NCAA Division III National Champion, National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee, and former UFC light heavyweight who competed against many of the greatest fighters of his era.

What makes Matt’s story truly remarkable is that he accomplished it all while being deaf. He refused to let that define him, overcoming every obstacle through relentless determination, discipline, and an incredible work ethic to reach the highest level of mixed martial arts.

Matt also holds one of the most unique records in UFC history—he is officially the only fighter to own a victory over Jon Jones, earning the win by disqualification in their 2009 UFC bout. While the outcome came via disqualification, it remains the lone official loss on Jon Jones’ professional MMA record.

This seminar is about more than learning techniques, it’s about learning from an athlete who proved that perseverance, grit, and hard work can overcome any obstacle.

Chris is a former UFC welterweight contender, renowned for his fearless fighting style, durability, and finishing ability. During his professional MMA career, he compiled over 50 victories and earned a reputation as one of the sport’s most exciting and respected competitors.

Lytle competed for some of the biggest organizations in the world, including the UFC, BKC, Pancrase, Cage Rage, and the WEC. He was a finalist on The Ultimate Fighter 4 and made history as the first Cage Rage World Welterweight Champion.

Throughout his career, Lytle became known for his all-action style, earning multiple Fight of the Night, Submission of the Night, and Knockout of the Night bonuses while facing many of the best fighters in the world. He capped off his legendary UFC career with a memorable submission victory over Dan Hardy before retiring from MMA competition.

Today, Lytle remains one of the most respected voices in combat sports as the primary color commentator and broadcast analyst for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Before becoming an MMA star, Fitch was a standout wrestler at Purdue University. After joining the team as a walk-on, he earned a starting position early in his collegiate career. Wrestling under legendary coach Tom Erikson, Fitch became a four-year letterman and was eventually named team captain, building the elite wrestling foundation that carried him to success at the highest levels of MMA.
