Yo! I’m Jessica Maldonado, and I’m excited and nervous that you’re here! Excited because I can’t wait to dance together, and nervous for just the same reason. 😂
Spoiler: I’m a Christian, and Jesus is the reason behind Bust A Move.
Bust A Move exists to be a gospel-centered movement in the form of dance. If you just heard Dane Cook or pictured Napoleon Dynamite, we might be cut from a similar cloth. 😂
We are physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual beings, wired to love God with all the ways we are made: heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). My hope is to bring people together through music and movement, have some fun, and not take ourselves too seriously.
Expect a mix of music genres and dance styles. Come as you are, move how you can, and enjoy yourself! I pray over the music I select and won’t glorify anything that degrades women.
We need Jesus. He came to rescue sinners and sufferers like you and me, and God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). This is the truth at the heart of Bust A Move.
God created every person in His image; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27). Every person has value and purpose. My aim is to meet people where they are, lead with grace and truth, and create a space marked by kindness, honesty, and respect without compromising the truth of God’s Word.
Grab your sweat rags, a big behind source of hydration, and get ready to bust a move!! 💃🪩
