“The Day I Decided to Rise Again”
There was a moment — quiet, unremarkable, easy to miss —
when I chose to stop surviving and start rebuilding.
After illness took so much from me, I felt like a ghost inside my own body.
Weakened. Heavier. Unsure.
My confidence slipped through my fingers like loose reins in a storm.
But one day I woke up and whispered to myself,
“Not like this. Not anymore.”
At TeamWork Dressage, in the calm guidance of Jules’ voice,
I began the slow work of rising.
Of losing weight, regaining strength, rebuilding trust in my body…
and remembering that I am still a trainer, a coach, and a rider.
I am still an athlete.
And I am coming back stronger.
Every ride is a promise to myself:
I’m not done climbing.
And I’m lucky to climb with a team behind me—
for fueling the foundation,
for nourishing my athletes,
for shaping every stride.
for helping my horses recover in comfort,
for keeping us balanced and dancing.
for keeping my athletes feet in good shape
for helping my athletes feet stay healthy
