Good morning, Padres! I want to remind everyone to stay active between seasons. Here are some tips from Google.

To stay active for sports, focus on consistency by creating a routine, mixing in cross-training to prevent injury, and setting achievable goals. Prioritize proper nutrition, hydration, and 7-9 hours of sleep for recovery. Stay motivated by finding enjoyable activities, such as joining a local team or working out with a friend.

Top Tips for Staying Active in Sports:

Establish a Routine: Schedule workouts like appointments to make them part of your daily life.
Prevent Injuries: "Too much, too soon" is a major cause of injury; start slow and gradually increase intensity. Always warm up before and cool down after activity.

Cross-Train: Mix up your workouts to strengthen different muscles and avoid overuse injuries. Incorporate resistance training at least twice a week.
Prioritize Nutrition & Hydration: Fuel with a balanced diet to maintain energy. Drink plenty of fluids before, during, and after activity.

Listen to Your Body: Don't ignore pain or swelling. Rest days are crucial for recovery.

Make it Fun: Choose activities you enjoy to maintain long-term motivation.

Set Goals: Define short- and long-term goals (e.g., training for a 5K) to stay focused.

Activity Recommendations:

Aerobic Activity: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week.
Strength Training: Target all major muscle groups at least twice a week.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid:
Ignoring pain or injuries.
Skipping warm-ups.
Over-training without adequate rest.

Who is your all-time favorite for pitching in the career of baseball?

AI Overview:
There's no single consensus for the all-time best pitcher, but Cy Young and Walter Johnson are often cited due to their overwhelming statistical dominance and era-defining careers, with Cy Young holding numerous unbreakable records like 511 wins. Other frequently mentioned greats include Christy Mathewson, Greg Maddux, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Sandy Koufax, and Tom Seaver.

Here's a breakdown of the top contenders and the reasons for their inclusion:

The Legends of the "Pre-Modern Era"
Cy Young: Holds the record for most career wins (511), innings pitched (7,356), and complete games (749), a testament to his incredible longevity and performance. The award for the best pitcher in MLB is named in his honor, an unparalleled distinction.
Walter Johnson: Known for his "Big Train" fastball, Johnson's 3,509 career strikeouts were a record for 56 years. He also ranks second in career wins with 417 and has the most career complete-game shutouts with 110.
