Coach Nicholson joins our family with a proven track record of success. His commitment to excellence and dedication to building strong programs make him the perfect fit to lead our team into its next chapter!

It’s a true family affair as we also welcome his daughter, Kamryn Nicholson, to the coaching staff! Kamryn is already making an impact in our district as a teacher at Rather Elementary, and we are thrilled to have her energy and leadership on the field with our student-athletes.

We couldn't be more excited for the future of Ionia Softball.

Ionia High School is proud to welcome Bruce Nicholson as our new Head Varsity Softball Coach!

Bruce comes to Ionia after leading the Central Montcalm High School softball program for the last 15 seasons. He has recorded 325 career wins and multiple conference, district, and regional championships!

We are very excited for the future of Ionia Softball under his leadership.

Lansing Catholic Varsity Cougars scored eight runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Ionia Varsity Bulldogs 15-3 on Friday at Lansing Catholic High School.

Lansing Catholic Varsity Cougars jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after an error scored one run, and a single, scoring two runs.

Lansing Catholic Varsity Cougars added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when an error scored one run, a single scored two runs, and another single scored one run.

Lansing Catholic Varsity Cougars scored eight runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Bowen took the loss for Ionia Varsity Bulldogs. The pitcher went four innings, allowing 15 runs on 12 hits, striking out three and walking two.

Lansing Catholic Varsity Cougars defeated Ionia Varsity Bulldogs 18-1 on Friday at Lansing Catholic High School thanks in part to 17 runs in the second inning.

Lansing Catholic Varsity Cougars got on the board in the top of the second inning with a double scoring two runs.

Adah Drown took the loss for Ionia Varsity Bulldogs. The hurler went one and one-third innings, surrendering nine runs on eight hits, striking out none and walking one.

Isabella Gallagher, Krisalynn Cooper, Ginger Helman, Kaya Clark, Ava Bowen, and Allyson Schmid each collected one hit for Ionia Varsity Bulldogs. Bowen went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
