Our season came to an end this past Thursday night at Thief River Falls! Obviously the outcome was not what we had worked toward all year, but we didn’t quit and played hard throughout the entire game! When you have 10 players out from various injuries and illness and only 2 upperclassmen in the lineup for a playoff game against an experienced fast skating, highly skilled TRF team, i personally couldn’t be more proud to be their coach this season. They accepted the challenge and embraced it.
This season has been a grind (like all seasons) with many highs, lows, injuries and sicknesses. As I look back on the season, I can’t help but smile with the knowledge that as a coaching staff we asked a lot of our VERY young team and everyday they came to the rink and never complained. They put thier heads down and just went to work. Many people define a season on win and loses whether or not a season is successful, I do not! Yes, winning is important and the is goal everyday we step on the ice to compete and win, but success is defined by much more than that! I define a successful season as one where the team never quit, worked hard, got better, was willing to learn and challenge themselves to come out of thier comfort zone, be good students and even better people off the ice and in public and I believe we did those things, so regardless of our record this season was a success. Here are some highlights of our season!
* Won 5 Varsity Games
* Posted 2 Shutouts (consecutive)
* All three goalies got at least 1 Varsity win
* Sending a senior player to the Section 8A/AA allstar team to compete against the best senior players in the state.
* Rostered 9 8th grade players (Each of them competed in at least 1 varsity this season) Most were everyday varsity contributors!
* Bagged groceries to raise money for the Food Shelf
* Served dinner at the Elks Christmas Party
* Served Pancake Breakfast for Purple Pride and the Falls Education Foundation during ICebox Days
I want to say thank you to our Five Seniors:
Ava Werner, Addison Brown, Payten Rousseau, lexi Davis and Morgan DeMars
Their dedication, work ethic, positive attitudes and commitment to program is the very definition of being a Bronco! I know each of them will be successful in whatever career paths they choose and i personally couldn’t have asked for a better class to help me and the other coaches and we began our tenure with the Bronco Program!
The future is Bright Bronco Nation!

Also a special shout out to our bus drivers Mark and Bemidji Bus Lines (Bill), ISD361, Ms, Groom for being our tutor on Study hall days, Athletic Director Timm Ringhofer, Superintendent Beth Shermoen and the entire School board for your support this season!
