Thick Girl Yoga LA is a social collective focused on self-healing, life empowerment, and soul care. Three things I wish I knew before navigating my 30s.

🛑 Which one do you need to hear today?

1. You don't need it all figured out. Stop waiting for the perfect plan. Clarity comes from taking action, not waiting on the sidelines.

2. Your body is listening. The habits you build today are the foundation for your future. Rest is not a reward; it's a requirement.

3. Pause to pivot. Some of life's best decisions are made in moments of stillness, not in the middle of a busy schedule.

Reminder: You are not behind schedule. You are exactly where you need to be to become who you're meant to be. Save this post for the next time you need a quick reset! 📌

Why is specialized pre and postnatal yoga training so critical right now? 🤎✨
As yoga teachers, doulas, and reproductive professionals, we are on the front lines of maternal health. But the reality is that the maternal health gap is widening, and Black, brown, and underserved communities are facing the hardest impacts.

A standard 200HR yoga teacher training barely scratches the surface of pregnancy modifications, and as birth workers, we need every tool possible to support our clients. To truly serve our communities, we need to provide care that is safe, trauma-informed, and culturally competent.

Whether you want to help a pregnant student safely modify their flow, or you want to use somatic movement and breathwork to empower a birthing person through labor and postpartum—you need the right education to hold that space confidently. 🕊️

Let’s bridge the gap together. Join me for a FREE virtual workshop where we will break down exactly how to support pregnant and postpartum bodies safely.

Ever wonder why you feel like a creaky door when you first get up? Overnight, our tissues lose a bit of hydration and our muscles “set” in whatever position we slept in.

This “Awaken Your Body” guide targets the areas that hold the most morning tension:

1. The Pelvis: Kegels and Bridge Pose get the blood flowing to your core and pelvic floor, which “turns on” your internal stabilizer muscles.
2. The Hips: Malasana (Squat) and Goddess Pose are deep openers that help ground you and improve circulation to your lower half.
3. The Nervous System: Finishing (or starting!) with Reclined Bound Angle tells your brain, “Hey, we’re safe and ready for the day.”

Tip: You don’t need a yoga mat for these. Most of them can be done right on your rug (or even on your mattress if it’s firm enough!).

Whether you delivered vaginally or via a belly birth, your pelvic floor just spent nine-plus months carrying the immense weight and pressure of a whole human!

That’s why finding the right, supported modifications for Boat Pose (Navasana) is an shift for postpartum recovery.

Grab your blocks, find your center, and focus entirely on your breath.

Healing is a practice, not a race. We’re rebuilding this foundation together. ✨
