Megan is a certified health coach who partners with you to organize + prioritize your health whether you're a busy professional, mother, bride-to-be or someone just looking to feel better. As a health coach, I partner with you in identifying and accomplishing specific health- and wellness-related goals. I will guide you through identifying your values, strengths and motivations that already reside
inside of you (I promise it is there!). Most of us know what we need to do, but just cannot seem to do it. That is where I come in as your health coach. I will be your guide to help you use your strengths to accomplish and implement your vision of wellness and health. Many times, we try to do it on our own then beat ourselves up when we “fail”. Behavior change is not easy. That is why there are so many “quick fixes” out there that make millions of dollars, but do not work or only “fix” for the short-term. We keep going back to them over and over again hoping the next time will be the last time, but it is not. Let's break that cycle and do it together! WHAT IS THE PROCESS? We begin this process with a short phase of exploration of YOU. As the health coach, I learn about you and address the whole person including physical, emotional, social, environmental, environmental and spiritual wellness. While we might initially focus on a physical wellness issue, other dimensions of your wellness will also most likely be addressed because those areas also affect your health and well-being. As a client, you are guided in self-exploration to understand, connect, and engage your natural strengths and values to heal and/or achieve. Once your goals are identified, we co-create an achievable action plan and support you along the way through accountability as you progress towards realizing your goals. HOW IS A HEALTH COACH DIFFERENT FROM A DIETITIAN OR PERSONAL TRAINER? Dietitians and personal trainers customize a plan for you to follow. But, then you are on your own to implement it. That is where health coaches come in. As a health coach, I don’t diagnose, or prescribe food plans, or tell you what to do. WILL HEALTH COACHING WORK FOR ME? It is likely that you do not need more diet or exercise advice. There is plenty of information out there on the web, Pinterest, Facebook and your next door neighbor. As your health coach, I can certainly point you in the right direction, but I will be your objective third-party who will be honest, support, encourage, hold you accountable, and guide you in doing the things you know you should be doing but are not. Health coaching will work for you if you are willing to take responsibility for your own actions. Just working me will not make the weight fall off or symptoms go away. You have to be willing to put in the work. But, the good news is that it works! By working with me, you will make significantly more progress and sustain those changes longer than if you tried to do it alone.
