Independence Baseball Club is a youth travel baseball team in Independence, Kansas, with players from Independence and surrounding areas, playing in tournaments and games in SEK, SWMO, and NEO.

⚾ OPEN PRACTICE — IBC IS FILLING A COUPLE MORE ROSTER SPOTS!⚾

IBC is looking for players who love baseball, want to improve, and are ready for more competition.

This team is ideal for players who want to play beyond the traditional recreational level and are ready to take the next step — without jumping straight into the intensity and commitment of high-level travel baseball.

Coaches are focused on:

⚾ Developing fundamentals and a love for the game
⚾ Increasing baseball IQ and game awareness
⚾ Building confidence and competitiveness
⚾ Playing against stronger competition
⚾ Creating an environment where players are challenged

If your player is ready for more competition, wants to be challenged, and is excited to learn, compete, and grow, we’d love to see them at this OPEN PRACTICE!

IBC wants to build the bridge between between entry level and travel baseball.

IBC is looking for players and families that:

✅ Want more development and higher-level coaching and play
✅ Are ready to face stronger competition against teams with similar skill sets
✅ Love the game and want to improve

The team will compete against evenly matched competition through local league play and Rec/A-level tournaments in SEK, giving players the opportunity to grow their skills, confidence, and baseball IQ without the pressure of the typical travel level and schedule.

The focus is simple:
⚾ Player development over trophies
⚾ Confidence over comparison
⚾ Competitive baseball with balance

🌸What a weekend for our IBC boys as they battled through a competitive Mother’s Day Sandlot Baseball Tournament in Lamar, MO at 📍Lamar City Park!⚾️

The team went 2-1 on the day, finishing second in the tournament! This day was about more than baseball. Huge thank you to all of the moms that cheer like they birthed the entire lineup! None of this happens without you.💕

Game 1️⃣: IBC 4 | SW Tigers 13

🔥L. Segraves with a triple and 3 RBIs
⚡️P. Whitson collecting 2 hits and scoring twice
💥Strong hustle on the bases from P. Whitson, T. Haynes, M. Wilson, J. Logan, N. Lange, H. Lies who kept pressure on throughout the game

Even in a tough matchup, the boys continued competing, growth happens through games like these, and they went back to work and were ready for the next one. ⚾️💪

Game 2️⃣: IBC 13 | Carthage Miners 10

IBC secured a wild 13-10 win over Carthage Miners 10U after jumping out to an early lead and holding on through a late push from the Miners.

IBC came out swinging with 5 runs in the first and 4 more in the second to take control early. Carthage battled back late, but Indy answered with 4 huge insurance runs in the top of the 4th to secure the victory.

🔥N. Lange had a day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs and two runs scored
⚡️L. Segraves finished with a double, RBI, and two runs scored while creating havoc on the bases with 3 stolen bags
✌️M. Douthit added a double, RBI, and stole 2 bases
💥B. Irick delivered offensively with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs while swiping an impressive 5 bases
👏P. Whitson collected 2 hits and scored twice to spark the offense at the top of the lineup
🧡L. Gonzalez made the most of his opportunities, going 1-for-1, scoring a run, reaching via hit-by-pitch, and stealing 3 bases
⭐️B. Ferguson active offensively, scoring 1 run
💪M. Douthit battled through 3.2 innings on the mound to get the W

Game 3️⃣: IBC 10 | 620 Warriors 6

Independence Baseball Club 10U takes down the 620 Warriors after exploding early with 4 runs in the 1st and 5 more in the 2nd to take control of the game.

✌️L. Segraves with a double and RBI
⚡️P. Whitson scored twice, collected a hit, and stole FOUR bases
💥T. Haynes crossed the plate twice and added 3 stolen bases
👏M. Wilson added a hit and stolen bases
🔥L. Gonzalez and J. Logan each scored and swiped bags as IBC kept pressure on the bases all game
⭐️J. Logan brought energy to the lineup with stolen bases and scoring one run
🙏D. Lyon's patience at the plate kept innings alive
🧡N. Lange, H. Lies, T. Haynes with a solid combined effort on the mound

⚾️💐 HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND TO ALL OUR BASEBALL MOMS 💐⚾️

Our gift to you is a trek northeast for the Sandlot Baseball tournament in📍Lamar, MO!

This weekend’s tournament is dedicated to the real MVPs spending their day at the ball field instead of brunch. The moms who pack the snacks, wash the white pants, keep the dugout alive with sunscreen and Band-Aids, and somehow always know the answer to “Mom, where’s my cup?” all 47 times before 8 AM. 😂

IBC earned a strong 9–4 win over the Mudcats using an explosive first inning and disciplined at-bats to control the game throughout.

🚀L. Segraves-Launched a home run, finished with 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored
✌️P. Whitson-Came through with a double and RBI
💪H. Lies-Strong on the mound, also reaching base and scoring
💥B. Irick-Spark plug on the bases with 3 stolen bases and a run scored
⚡️B Ferguson-Elite plate discipline and 4 stolen bases
🎯N. Lange-Reached base multiple times and shut the door in relief on the mound
🔥T Haynes-Added an RBI and worked a walk to help extend innings
🙌M Wilson-A run scored and contributed with aggressive base running

Game 2️⃣: Independence 3 | E3 Freedom 11

IBC an into a tough E3 Freedom squad, falling 11–3. E3 jumped out fast with 4 runs in the first and 5 more in the second, putting IBC in an early hole they couldn’t climb out of. Errors proved costly, extending innings and allowing E3 to capitalize repeatedly, going on take the tourney Championship.🏆

🔥P. Whitson–Led the offense with a hit and a run scored
💥H. Lies-Strong performance behind the plate and at bat, going 1-for-1 with a walk and 2 stolen bases
⚡️N. Lange–Scored a run and contributed on the mound in relief

Game 3️⃣: Independence 3 | Wood Ducks 5

Independence came out swinging in a tough battle versus the Wood Ducks. IBC set the tone early with a 3-run first inning, but the momentum shifted as the Wood Ducks responded and held on for a 5–3 heartbreaker.💔

Game 1️⃣: Independence 4 | SEK Shockers 3

Independence Baseball Club 10U edged out SEK Shockers 10U 4–3 in a tight, back-and-forth game. Indy jumped ahead early, scoring in each of the first three innings (2–1–1), then held off a late push. Strong pitching and aggressive base running made the difference down the stretch.

Fast start: Indy plated 2 runs in the 1st to set the tone
Clutch defense/pitching: Held Shockers scoreless over the final two innings
Limited damage: Only 1 hit allowed all game by Indy pitching

IBC ran into a hot🔥team and Indy's defense couldn't cool them off.💦 We'll tip our cap, reset, and come back better from lessons learned.

Shout out to the teams for coming to Indy! Thank you everyone for stepping up and for your support!🧡
