Sometimes it’s not about landing a monster…it’s about watching the water come alive as the sun dips low and the fish start teasing you.

Had a few solid hits on different dry flies…nothing that stuck, but enough to keep my heart skipping and my cast honest. Tried an Elk Hair Caddis, a little Adams, even tossed a Parachute Purple just to see who was paying attention.

That late light on the lake was unreal …calm, glowing, and quiet except for the soft plunk of flies and the occasional swirl of a curious trout.

No fish in hand, but a head full of peace and just enough adrenaline to already be planning the next trip.

Here, in the heart of Wyoming’s wild, I had the opportunity to fish the Wind River, near Dubois.
Knee deep in the crisp current, surrounded by the rugged Absoroka Mountains, I was pretty far inside my head, deep in thought, soaking in the beauty, not really caring if I caught anything! (No expectations is my new hack).
Talk about the best therapy session I’ve had this month!
After a few hours, a few nibbles, and a shuffle thru each in the fly box, I called it a successful day.
Now, I was fit to be around & rejuvenated ✨ My soul is filled until the next cast. 🎣

We always stop at the Stage Stop (IYKYK) if we’re headed east out of Boise.
On our way to Buhl to fish the Snake River, we ran into guys & got to hear what they were doing! They just did a show at the Egyptian in Boise.
Really neat peeps & just a confirmation that we were meant to go fish!
