‼️Big ideas can come from small towns, and this is proof of that‼️
Leslie County High School graduate Arnessa (Woods) Raybould is making an impact in the dental industry as the inventor of Safe RayZ, an innovative device designed to help protect X-ray technicians and hygienists from harmful radiation exposure while positioning dental X-ray sensors during procedures.
What makes her story even more inspiring is the dedication she showed long before her success. During her time in the Leslie County School System, she achieved something incredibly rare… 12 years of perfect attendance.
(Although her brother Adam Woods, wanted everyone to know he technically went 14 years without missing a day just to beat her… including preschool and kindergarten 🤷♂️ )
While at Leslie County High School, Arnessa was also a cheerleader and softball player, representing her school with the same dedication and work ethic that would later help shape her success.
Her educational accomplishments are just as impressive.
• An Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene
• An Associate Degree in Arts
• An Associate Degree in Science through BCTC
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut
She has used those degrees, along with an incredible work ethic, to become co-owner and CEO of Modern Kids Dentistry, helping grow the practice from one location to four.
Her brother shared something that really stood out to us:
“She really is a hometown hero to me brother! I believe in her so much that when she asked me to come work for her, I left a job I had built myself up in for a whole career and changed industries. I’ve worked for her for 9 months now. She really is awesome.”
Stories like this remind us that the values learned in these mountains still matter… hard work, consistency, loyalty, and believing in each other.
From the classrooms of Leslie County to innovation in healthcare and business leadership, we are proud to celebrate one of our own.
