🚲🍦 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗣𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 🍦🚲

As we kick off our 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗 summer of Scoops for Safety, we wanted to share the story behind how this initiative started and why it means so much to our 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬. 💖

Two years ago, the Hokel's son, Lincoln, was involved in a serious scooter accident while not wearing a helmet. What followed was every parent’s nightmare: road rash, a concussion, and two skull fractures. Thankfully, Lincoln recovered, but the experience became a powerful reminder of how quickly accidents can happen and how important helmet safety truly is. 🛴

Since then, the 𝗛𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗟 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗬 has noticed more and more kids in our community choosing to wear helmets while riding bikes and scooters, and they wanted to keep that momentum going in a positive, community-driven way. 🚴‍♂️ That’s where 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗣𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 was born. 👮‍♂️🍦

This summer, we’re once again partnering with the Huxley Police Department and the Hokel family to encourage helmet, bike, and scooter safety around town.

✨ 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘'𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗣 ✨
If a Huxley officer sees a kid riding safely with their helmet on, they may hand out a token for a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗣 of ice cream at Fabled. 😎🍦

Throughout the summer, officers will have tokens ready to 𝗥𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗧𝗦 because protecting our kids is always worth celebrating. 🎉
