ZD30-RD2 Update & Results:

We concluded Round-2 of our Spring Robin this morning and it was a GREAT way to start the day!

One of the many great things about how we compete in Ultimate is our ability to recognize how competing hard with and against one-another sheds light on the condition of body and the soul.

Every man has the opportunity and is encouraged to examine himself in light of what the game reveals about himself and/or what his peers bring to his attention.

1 John 1:5-10, "5. This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in him. 6. If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. 7. If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8. If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10. If we say, “We have not sinned,” we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

Each AM, we start in the dark (ZD30). The lights come on and it's game on. We go from walking in darkness (literally), to chasing a Frisbee in the light.

Jesus is the light of life, the light that reveals how valuable and vulnerable we are. Sort-of like trying to haul in a 35+ yard pass, with a defender on your heels, looking over your shoulder, having to take your eyes off the Frisbee, relocate it and adjust direction at full stride; valuable and vulnerable.

The game reveals things about us, our peers help us see what we might be blind to. Jesus graciously shows us exactly who we are, what we need, His willingness and ability to provide only what He can, forgiveness, salvation and fellowship with Him. Our deepest needs.

BAK-Blast: Good Day men. Last Wednesday we had a rare 9v8 full field Out. We decided to play all-in sense the wind was making itself known at +25mph.

In those kinds of conditions you really find out how skillful, not so skillful, or better yet, how you need to improve. The funny thing is, it's not just the physical ability, but maybe more importantly how we approach the game when our skills are somewhat insufficient to deal with less than ideal conditions.

Proverbs 18:11 urges us to examine where are sense of security lies, it reads: "The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense; they imagine it to be a high wall of safety."

Just as the wind snatches away the Frisbee, life often snatches away our ability to navigate the way we'd like. When that happens, where do you stand?

Apart from standing firmly on the grace God has made available in Christ, everything else will eventually fail -- security that is merely a figment of our imagination.

Might we be men who find our security, sense of purpose, meaning and value in Christ.

PROPZ to 'Picture Perfect' Parker Peterman our POD (Player of the Day). He played above his pay-grade on both ends of the field and made it look pretty.
