Huntsville Rockets Composite Mountain Bike Team The National Interscholastic Cycling Association has added Alabama to its growing list of states with high school mountain bike leagues! Join now!

Interested in trying a new sport? Already love mountain biking? We would love to have you as a team member as the league begins its first year as an Alabama high school sport! Anyone from a middle or high school in the North Alabama/Huntsville region is welcome to join, no matter your level of experience.

eam this year made up of students from local middle and high schools. We will train over the winter, and begin racing in the spring against other high schools and composite teams from all over the state. Important Dates/Locations:
October 15: Preseason begins
December 1: Season officially begins! March 15 & 16: Race #1 at Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park
April 11 & 12: Race #2 at Chewacla State Park
April 25 & 26: Race #3 at Oak Mountain State Park
May 2 & 3: State Championship at Munny Sokol Park

The Huntsville Panthers Mountain Bike Team info meeting will be at the Playground on Monte Sano State Park on Sept 7th. Huntsville Panthers is a cycling team for grades 6-12 and includes homeschoolers for everyone in the Huntsville High zoning and its feeder schools.

We have a local hero that helped make John Hunt Bike Park a reality, as well as several local biking clubs to include most of the North Alabama NICA High School race teams.

A great book has been written about here Great Divide adventure by a local author and fellow cyclist Steve Justice, now we have a documentary film to tell the whole story but it needs your help and support to be funded! Click thru and find out how you can help spread the story!

If you are interested in mountain biking and have a student athlete in the 11-18 yr old age group, come out this weekend to see the races right here in Huntsville!

All races this weekend will be held at John Hunt Park in Huntsville. Middle school will race on Saturday from 11:00 to 2:00, and High Schoolers will race on Sunday from 10:00 until 2:00.

Come out and support your local high school team and see what the fun is all about.
