A quick update from today’s (4/18) one-day tournament in Cullman, AL. We took the field and battled hard, but unfortunately came up short, going 0-3 on the day.

Over the years of these boys playing together, I have always made it a point to share our journey. I’ve posted the tournament championships, the high moments, and the successes. I have also shared our hardships. I am certainly not going to stop posting just because we are on the losing side of things right now with a 1-11 record.

Are we disappointed? Yes. We know this group is feeling it heavily, too. But this is exactly where the game of baseball becomes a teacher for everyday life.

The real test right now isn't the record on paper. The real question is: can we find a way to turn things around? Because in life, things rarely go exactly the way we envision them. When you hit a wall, you have a choice to make about how you respond.

This is a test of character for VBA Platinum 10u. It’s about perseverance, resilience, and leaning on your teammates when things get tough. We are going to keep showing up, we are going to keep putting in the work at the facility, and we are going to face this adversity head-on.

We will learn from this, and we will keep fighting. Thank you to the parents and families for your unwavering support through the highs and the lows.

Another weekend of high-level competition is in the books for VBA Platinum 10u in Albertville, AL (4/11-4/12). While the results on the scoreboard weren't in our favor, the growth we're seeing is undeniable. These boys are showing up and battling every single pitch.

We intentionally schedule these tough, competitive tournaments to forge a championship mindset. It's teaching us a critical lesson in real-time: how one phase of the game directly impacts the next. We're seeing how a small mistake can create a hole, and how crucial it is to string hits together to climb back out. It's a tough lesson, but a vital one for a team with big goals.

Our 1-8 record doesn't tell the whole story. It doesn't show the flashes of stellar defense, the hard-hit balls that just don't fall, or the fight this team has from the first pitch to the last. We are truly on the verge of breaking through. The pieces are all there, and soon, they are going to click.

We are always proud of this group's effort and resilience. The work continues, and we're excited to get back on the field.

We will keep building, and good things will continue to happen.

What a difference a week makes! It was great to see the bats wake up this weekend in Albertville (3/28), with the team putting up an impressive 26 runs over three games. A drastic improvement at the plate and a huge step in the right direction. The power was on full display, led by a huge shout-out to Tucker Jones who crushed his 1st home run of the spring season (his 5th overall in 10u)! It’s a thrill to see the hard work they’re putting in at the facility translate to that kind of production on the field.

And just like that, we’ve identified the next piece of the puzzle. It was a huge step forward for our offense, and now we know we need to give our defense that same level of focus. That’s baseball. It shows us exactly what we need to work on to take that next step.

Putting a championship-level team together is a process. We're still figuring out exactly where all the pieces fit, but we are right on the verge of breaking through. Don't let our 1-5 season record fool you; the growth this team has shown is tremendous. The fight is there. The talent is there. We will be okay.

Proud of the fight, and excited to get back to work. The journey continues!

What a weekend to kick off the spring season in Huntsville, Al (3/21)! The VBA Platinum 10u boys battled hard in their first tournament, and while the results weren't what we hoped for (0-3), the foundation is set. We saw a ton of fight, and our defense showed the flashes of brilliance we know this team is capable of. It’s a long season, and this was just the first step in the journey!

We know what we need to work on—getting those bats hot when runners are on base—and the work to get there is already underway.

On that note, we are incredibly excited and proud to announce the completion of the brand new, 3200 sq/ft VBA Platinum 10u training facility!

This space, provided to our players at no extra charge, is a complete game-changer. It means more swings, more ground balls, and more reps, regardless of the weather. It’s a place where we can turn those tough breaks at the plate into line drives in the gap. The boys were able to start utilizing the facility today!

The bats will come alive. We are proud of this group and can't wait to get back on the field this weekend (3/28) in Albertville, AL, and compete. The grind continues!
