I want to congratulate Mallory Hicks on her commitment to play at Shawnee State!!!

I was coming home from Nationals around this time 6 years ago and we were stuck on a delay in Florida because of weather. Galaxy was in its infancy and hadn't had much time to do anything. During the delay, some of the parents started talking to a family that their daughter played volleyball. They brought me over to meet the family and was introduced to Edman Hicks and Sarah Arrowood Hicks. They told me they were from West Carter and their daughter played and was looking for lessons and possibly a new club. They then introduced to Mallory and asked her to stand up. Well she kept rising up and she stood up. We exchanged information and scheduled a private lesson. She came in and absolutely rocked it! Mallory is known as the first outside recruit for Galaxy and for awhile known as "Airport Girl".

We had the pleasure of watching Mallory grow as a player for 4 years! From 14s year to her 17s year, she was a huge staple in growing that group into a power house. She was part of a team that finished runner up in the consolation bracket (silver bracket) at AAU Nationals her 16s year, Finished 3rd at MEQs her 17s year and was part of a team that had 7 of 8 girls sign to play college this year.

I'm so super proud of you Mallory! Coach Devan Spriggs and her staff definitely picked up a top tier player. Goodluck at Shawnee State!

We would like to say a HUGE congratulations to one of our 16U players, Lyla Johnson!

Lyla was selected for the 17U OVR All-Star Team and will compete at the USA All-Star Volleyball Championships in Columbus, Ohio, July 23–26. This is an amazing accomplishment for a Class of 2029 athlete, reflecting her hard work and dedication to the game.
